Up for auction is a vintage. Electrical, double centrifuge. It's 110 volts, with 60 cycles, model number S6952. Everything is original, including the cord. Made by Shelton Electric Co. Dates back to c. 1930's, maybe earlier. If you look at photo#6, you'll see that some of the cord is worn, exposing a little bit of the copper wires. Otherwise, in great condition. Vintage Kerr Centrifico Jewelry Casting Machine Centrifuge Works fine
For auction is a vintage Kerr Centrifico Dental burn out centrifuge. It is in a bit dirty as found condition. There is some surface rust on the screw heads. There is some paint loss on the base of the centrifuge. There are no breaks or cracks or repairs to the machine. This is a hand operated/ hand wind centrifuge. All the operator has to do it spin the top counter clockwise a little bit and release. and the counter weight on the arm will do the rest. And it is powerful. So The new owner must mount the base to a work table with screws before use, otherwise it will fly off the table. The Base is 7 1/4' in diameter at the bottom mounting flange. The base is 6 1/2' tall to the arm/ base connection. It stands 9 1/4' tall to the top of the burn out crucible. Now When the user want to get the centrifuge wound and prepped to work, the ... moreuser winds the arm counter clockwise, and them lifts the stop bar to hold the counter weight in place. The weight can be position in a number of location for speed. And the burn out crucible can be re positioned as well. Vintage hand crank centrifuge brass? Dairy?
I am selling a hand crank centrifuge manufactured by the Chicago Apparatus Company. I purchased it a school sale. It appears to be old. I believe the tubes are brass. I have not tried to clean it at all. As you can see it is mounted on a wood base I believe to be walnut. It measures about 11" x 6" x 3/4" There is a hole on the side which I think is where it would have been a screw that would have held it to a tabletop. The hole is about 1" x 3/4" The crank works very good and the tubes spin easily. I do not know much anything else about it. I was told it was used as a cream separator on a dairy farm but since I purchased it from the science lab at a high school you be the judge on its use!
