IEC Centra MP4R Tabletop Refrigerated Centrifuge w/ Rotor MP-4R
IEC Centrifuge Up for auction is a used IEC Centra MP4R Tabletop Refrigerated Centrifuge. The unit is in good physical condition with only minor scuffs and scratches due to normal wear. All the labeling is clear and legible. Please refer to the pictures provided below for more details on the condition of the item. When we tested this unit it powered on without any problems. We were able to adjust all the parameters with the buttons and then we had the unit run for 30 minutes at various speeds and had the temp set a 4 degrees Celsius. After the 30 minutes was up we opened the unit and checked the temperature with an IR thermometer. For some reason though the units chamber ranged between 13-17 degrees Celsius. But I can not determine if it gets as cold as it is supposed to. The rotor will spin when I set the controls for any RPM and slowly speeds up as indicated by the gauge. I can also feel it spinning. It starts to feel a little wobbly as it speeds up and so I never ran it at a high RPM. I think it should be checked for balance first. There is considerable loss to the finish inside the unit by the rotor as can be seen in pictures number 8, 9, and 10. The hood lock works as it should and all of the different controls change the numbers on the displays when I actuate them. I am not able to test it further. So as long as you have the matching sets opposite each other it spins very nicely and has been left on for over an hour without any issues. That is the extend of my testing and NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. And I have four inserts for using smaller 15ml(I think tubes) instead. But only 3 match, the fourth is different and probably different enough to cause some instability. Up for Sale is an IEC Centra-8R Refrigerated Centrifuge w/ Model 216 Swinging Bucket Rotor! This centrifuge is in very nice physical condition. The only thing that I feel I should note is that the lid latches do not line up exactly with the holes in the body of the centrifuge(it is only about 1/8" off) So you have to slightly adjust the lid to the right in order to close the lid and have it lock in place. This is really not that big of an issue, as the lid does lock shut just fine. Just thought that I'd mention it. It has been tested to be in good working order. The refrigeration unit works just as it should and it c ools to the set temperature. The RPMs seemed to increase slower than I'm used to with smaller centrifuges. It went up about 2 RPMs every second. Maybe this is normal. I'm not sure about these larger centrifuges. ... moreAs you can see. There are no inserts/ adapters in the rotor buckets. You are bidding on one(1) IEC CR-6000 Centrifuge. Units turns on and spins. We had the door open during these pictures so the timer and RPM didn't light up while photographing but after we put away the camera. We locked the lid and they do work. Has a model 219 four rotor installed and included. The unit was unplugged initially and we didn't have the time to verify if the unit refridgerates correctly but it was in use prior to the facility closing. A handwritten label on the unit stating: Warning. Do not exceed 4000 rpms. We are unsure if the unit must stay below this or it was just company policy.
