The internal structure of the item is in good condition with no dents or cracks. The rotor is also in good condition with no dents. The power cable is in good condition with no cuts or frayed areas. Please refer to the photos below for more details on the item. This item was plugged in and powered on with no problems. We turned the timer to 10 minutes and set the speed to max. The item ran for 10 minutes without any issues. When the item stopped running we used the brake and it functioned without any issues. The RPM meter got to a max of 3500. We then took out the rotor and turned the RPM to max and the item went over 9000 RPM. We guarantee this item to function properly and as described as is. International IEC 940 Centrifuge Rotor This auction is for an International IEC Centrifuge Rotor model 940. This is an enclosed swinging bucket rotor with four matched 1671 shields. And a 12,000 RPM max rotational speed. I don’t believe this was designed to be a sealed rotor system. Which is good, because the outfit that I bought it from appears to have dropped it. The lid is dinged on the edged facing you in the picture. At about 4 o’clock relative to the printing on the lid. It isn’t badly damaged as I think you can see. But the lid is slightly”sprung” meaning it doesn’t seat all the way around like it ought to. Close. But not quite. I tried to straighten it some. But basically everything I do seems to push the small gap between the lid and the bowl/cover to a different spot, so I gave up. You might be able to do better. But I would expect ... moreto have a narrow gap on one side or the other with the lid installed. Please take that into consideration. I do not see any damage to the body of the rotor itself. Only to the lid. I do not know which IEC centrifuges this will fit. It doesn’t show up in my older catalogs so I have no cross reference for it and no experience with it. This item is used and sold"As Is. I refurbished the centrifuge for use in my lab. It is in beautiful condition. I changed processes so I had to buy a centrifuge with a different rotor and don't have any room to store this one. The needle indicating RPMs is sticky and needs to be tapped to show the correct speed. It maxes out at 5.000 RPMs. The Rotor is CAT 815(7/87) There are 16 stainless steel tube sleeves that slide into the rotor. They are CAT 302(6/87) 46.5 GMS and"Made in the USA. There are 8 more holes without sleeves. For sample containment I used the Falcon(35 2097) Blue Max Jr. 15mL Conical Tube with blue cap. 17 x 120mm, Polypropylene, Non-Pyrogenic, Sterile centrifuge tubes. They fit perfectly inside the rotor sleeves.
