This item was plugged in and powered on with no problems. We were able to use all the function buttons without any issues. We set the item to 4150 RPM. Set the timer to 5 minutes and set the temperature to 0 degrees. The item worked and ran through the time without any issues. The compressor worked and functioned properly as well. We then took out the rotor due to it only being max 4200 RPM and set the item to 15000 RPM. The item started to function properly but then would stop and display"e-21. We were able to research the error and it is due to not having a rotor installed. We measured the internal temperature with a digital thermometer and it read-02 degrees Celsius. Up for sale is a Baxter Scientific Products Medifuge centrifuge. The centrifuge has a 12 place rotor that looks like it would hold 10 mL or similar size centrifuge tubes. The instrument is very clean and in good cosmetic condition. The tabs that fix the front panel on to the instrument are broken. But the panel is still held in place by two screws. This will not effect the appearance or functionality of the instrument. The instrument was put through 2 testing cycles at 5000 rpm, its top speed for 15 minutes on both trials. At the end of the cycle, the instruments braking mechanism was activated, slowing the rotor down. From these tests, it the instrument seems to be in good working condition and is very quiet even at its top speed, indicating good bearings.
