This unit shows a lot of use but it seem to me like it still functional to me, I turned it on and let it run at full speed for a good 20 min, it ran smooth and didn't get warm. it comes with a stainless steel test tube sleeve in each opening and some have some small rubber disc in them, I think these are for balancing. look closely at the photos and ask questions if you have them. This is a Damon/IEC centrifuge model number HN-SII. It comes with various tubes and collars as shown in the pictures. The centrifuge is equipped with a Brake On/Off switch. Timer, RPM meter and Centrifuge on With/Without Timer Switch. I tested the unit and it perform nicely. The unit spins without noise or vibration, the brake works correctly and the timer works as it should. This model has the 958 rotor and has a 1/7th horsepower motor. It is a clear plastic cylinder with a drain port on the bottom and input tube on the top lid. Inside of that is a polycarbonate‘bowl’ attached to the motor. I’m not sure what this is used for, perhaps separating of oil or something. I have tried to include enough pictures for you to see these inner workings. The good news is, if this rotor system does not suit your needs, it is easily removed so you can put in your own rotor and get to work. From a state surplus sale. An IEC/Damon model EXD"explosion resistant" centrifuge, 120v. Comes with brass 12-spot rotor with trunions and vials. This is a pretty simple centrifuge- you have a speed knob and that's it. No timer. It also has the speed tachometer, but is missing the rod that connects the tachometer to the rotor spindle. The tachometer goes up to 6000rpm. Aside from the missing tach rod, it works fine, speed increases and decreases with the dial. There's some loose rubber pads laying in the bottom of the basin- I don't know if those are for the stand feet or what. Also some rubber stoppers. You get it all. It will of course go freight. I personally tested it, and it does work, but noticed that the RPM gauge is not working as the needle never moves. IEC Damon Lab Centrifuge, EXd Safe, 24-Inch, with Tubes
A heavy-duty centrifuge by IEC Damon. This is an EXd type combustion-resistant unit suitable for use with flammable materials or in hazardous atmospheres. This unit sits on the floor. The drum is 24 inches diameter. It has a 24 inch square base and is 38 inches tall. It is set up with a rotor that holds eight tubes of the 100 ml type shown here. We have six or eight tubes. Some unused, plus a number of extra tube holders. We are the original owners of this unit. Not re-sellers. We used it in our petroleum refinery lab for BS&W analysis and more recently in our wastewater lab. It was pretty clean before that and would look nice if re-painted or at least cleaned outside. Runs on 120V. Closing our business. We've been here since1935 and have thousands of items to sell. Safes. Fireproof file cabinets, flat files, drawing files, air compressors, ... moreheavy duty tools, electrical tools, office furniture and cabinets, lab equipment, pumps, motors, electrical enclosures, small refrigerators, whiteboards, commercial and industrial items.
