There is a bit of the"fire clouds" effect on the bottom of the piece. Which would have occurred inadvertently during the firing with sheep dung. The tile is made of yellow clay and painted with brown and black pigments. There is a flower painted on the bottom in brown paint(the artist's mark? There is some writing in pencil on the bottom that was put there by the person who had this piece previous to my having it. To remind her when and from whom she purchased the piece; it indicates that she bought it from Jane Bell in the 1950's, but she doesn't remember who or where Jane Bell was. VINTAGE CLAY ADAMS JUNIOR CENTRIFUGE GOOD FOR PARTS OR DISPLAY ONLY This is a vintage Clay Adams Junior Centrifuge with a rather quaint looking design which still holds four brass centrifuge shields. Unfortunately the metal column which holds the rotor has totally broken horizontally and renders it functionally useless- except on display as a retro-design. Or parts. The horizontal crack, as seen in the photos, is so perfect it's not obvious that it's damaged and therefore is very suitable for display. On the other hand. It still has many useful parts- motor, on/off speed control, rotor, brass shields, and electrical cord.
