This centrifuge is being sold for parts/repair since it appears that the brake isn't functioning properly. It will be put on a good solid pallet and will be wrapped and secrured well around the item. Up for sale is a Beckman Avanti J-20 refrigerated centrifuge. The menu and refrigeration functions have been fully tested and work great. The refrigeration gets cold very quickly and the thermostat was tested at many different temperatures all the way down to the mininum and worked great. All menus were run through and responded well. I do not have a rotor for this unit so the drive function was not tested. The"drive" and"door" error lights would light when I would hit the"start" button on the unit. I did not have a rotor ... morein the unit so that might have something to do with the errors. The door did work though and would open and close well and the latches were secure. Cosmetically it is very clean and there are only normal use scratches and wear on the outside. NO PARTS have been taken from the unit it is complete. Because of the errors and my inability to fully test I am selling this unit As-Is no return(thus the great price) But am guaranteeing that the buyer will receive as described and the refrigeration works well. Beckman AA24 AccuSpin Centrifuge Rotor For sale- a Beckman AA 24 Centrifuge Rotor. Clearly this rotor has 24 slots. But I am not certain of the volume. Based on a reference for some Waters filter I would say maybe 15ml. But I would urge you to do your own homework if you need to spin tubes that large. I see it mentioned in the limited number of references I found to fitting Beckman AccuSpin centrifuges. Possibly just the FR version but it seems kind of silly that it would only work in the refrigerated model. So again I would urge you to do your own homework before you buy. The body of the rotor itself is in very good condition as I think you can see. It won’t pass for new but why would it need to? The lid for the rotor is less attractive. It looks like maybe it was partially submerged in a liquid with mild corrosive qualities as on about ... more2/3 of the lid surface inside and out the blue anodized finish looks kind of funky. On the other 1/3 of the surface inside and out it looks fine. The other thing about the lid that I find puzzling is that it doesn’t offer any means of locking to the rotor itself. I have seen a number of other centrifuge rotors where the cap didn’t screw on but they are definitely in the minority. And this one has threads in the center. Rusty as you can see. If they don’t thread down onto something then what are they there for? So I thought maybe the bolt in the middle of the rotor used to attach it to the centrifuge wasn’t the original. But just some generic bolt. So I pulled it out and as you can see there is nothing generic about the enlarged threads. So maybe the cap just fits down over the circular hub of the rotor and doesn’t need any further attachment. The head of the rotor bolt fits up into the knob on the cap. Which would allow you to tighten it without having another tool for the job. So maybe I am just looking for an issue where there is none. I just thought it needed to be pointed out. I’m afraid I don’t know the application of this rotor. Either in terms of the Beckman centrifuges it fits or the size of the tube it will spin. Obviously it will handle 16 of them and I see another seller assert the capacity to be 5.1ml. Which sounds about right. It isn’t a very large hole. This thing is in excellent physical condition. I wiped it down and I didn’t discover any nicks or dings worth mentioning. There are some minor cosmetic imperfections. But as far as I could tell all were confined to the surface finish, and didn’t penetrate into the metal itself. So all things considered a very nice rotor that should have a lot of life left in it.
