Vintage Machinist Lot of 2 Hermaphrodite Firm Joint Calipers Starrett & Lufkin
You are bidding on a lot of 2 Hermaphrodite stiff leg calipers. The smaller of the 2 is a Starrett no. 243 with an overall length of 7.5" when fully opened. The larger is a Lufkin and it measures 11.5" when fully opened. The Lufkin has the anchor point and the anchor point holder but is missing the nut/cap to tighten that to the body of the caliper. Both have some light surface rust. These were from my Grandfathers collection. He worked for Lockheed Missile& Space Division back in the early 60's and these tools have been sitting unused since sometime in the 70's. After he passed away they were given to me which I have held onto now for several years. There are many quality tools and I feel that they would be better put to use than to collect more dust here. It does have a name scratched in the back of it. The two prongs in front look a little bit off, I do not know if the one is supposed to be like that, please refer to the bottom set of photo 8 to see what I am saying.
