There are some scratches and scuffs from normal use but much more importantly. The measuring surfaces are in really great shape. If you refer to the photos, you will see that the tips are not dinged or damaged in any way. It is clear that when they were used, they were used carefully. There is a tiny amount of shop grease and dirt but otherwise these are quite clean. Another positive sign is that the indicator points straight up to 12 o'clock when the jaws are fully closed. It is fair to assume there has never been any debris in the rack and gear to cause the gear to jump out and loose alignment as is sometimes the case. It is in good condition and works well(it does need a little pressure on the wheel to engage it) It measures inside diameter(ID) and outside diameter(OD) in standard and metric increments up to.001" It comes with the original gray case. One end of the case had broken and had been glued. This tool belongs to my father. I am selling it on his behalf. He worked in a printing machine shop for over 30 years. He scratched his initials on the back of the tool. He also put his name(in ink) on the front of the case. See photos.

Mitutoyo 6 Inch/15cm Dial Caliper- Used- no. 505-626- 001" with Case Up for bids is a used 6 inch/15 centimeter Mitutoyo dial caliper. The caliper appears to be in good working condition however the glass crystal is missing. The dial face is marked with the model number 505-626. There are initials scratched on the backside near the calibration sticker. The tool was last calibrated in 1998 according to a label on the backside. Included with the caliper is what I believe is the original hard case. I am not a machinist but if you have questions I will try my best to answer them. Up for auction is a Mitutoyo 6" dial caliper that is used. The box shows spots otherwise the caliper seems fine. I'm not familiar with this type of equipment. It comes from an estate that I'm handling the sale of books for. They added a few extra pieces for me to sell. Please see photos for details.
