It has a 2" 3" range, ratchet stop, steel anvil and spindle, and rigid one-piece frame of forged steel. It does not have a lock nut. This micrometer appears to be in properly functioning condition. With smooth operation. Since it is pre-owned, the frame has a few edge scratches but it should provide many more years of service. It comes with its original Starrett cardboard box. Instruction sheet, micrometer wrench, Certificate of Accuracy, booklet about Starrett tools dated 1963, and decimal equivalents card. The box is quite worn and soiled, with part of one side missing. Up for auction is a vintage Lufkin round outside caliper 141 it is 3 1/2 inches and opens to 3 1/4 inches. Here is a Starrett early Fay type spring caliper. This is marked STARRETT ATHOL MASS. This is a small. Caliper. It measures about 3 3/16" long. The legs open to about 2 13/16" wide. No owners marks some staining no rust. Thanks for looking
