Powermatic 6" Jointer Powermatic jointer. 6" knives. Model 053. Cuts fine. But there is a nick in the knives. That is easily fixed by moving one knife over a hair. There is a stain on the cast iron top from a table leg that had a glue line that needed a little more time to dry. It does not affect the function in any way. It was cleaned off. But left a stain. Table surface is nice and smooth. Work pieces slide across with no problem. It is a little saw-dusty. But that happens to tools when you use them. I don't have the original manual. I have a printout of one I found online. It has a dust chute adapter on the side for connecting to a dust collector. Contact me if you would like to come see it in person before the auction ends. Grizzly 8" Jointer long bed
Grizzly 8" wide long bed jointer in regular use in my shop since early 90's. Wired for 220 single phase. I have three jointers and less time for woodworking. So its time for at least one to go. I am keeping the Delta because its American made, and the Ryobi is a handy to move benchtop, so this is the only reason I am getting rid of the Grizzly, it does work as it is supposed to. Here, we have the Belt Guard for a DELTA Milwaukee 6" Jointer which is mounted on an Open Stand. ~~ This item is in really good condition. There's some paint loss, but I don't see any significant dings. Or bends. The two halves fit together very nicely. ~* ~ There's one spot. Where a belt/ pulley had worn through the front cover. see photo#4) If you were facing the inside, of the outer(front) cover. On the bottom(larger) end; just a little right of center. The guard must've been mounted off- center to do this. It's actually hard to find; you have to look for it. This small defect does not affect the stability. Or structural integrity. 16” Jointer Planer Surface Wood Working The L Power Heavy Duty Made in USA
MASSIVE 16" Jointer manufactured by the L. Power& Company. The only identification on the piece is simply the word"Power" as you may be able to make out from the pictures. I was told the motor was a 7.5HP. But could be a 5HP, I haven't seen any 16" jointers with a motor smaller than 5HP and this motor appears to be original. This machine is of course very old. My best guess would be 1940 but could be older. It is NOT in like-new condition, it has been around for a long time, not sure if the paint is original or not. IT HAS A FENCE! and the fence is in very good shape. Painted solid black. I bought this machine to strip down and restore but I'm not able to find the time. It was in service at a cabinet shop that went under here in Indiana and bought at auction by another cabinet shop whom I purchased it from. ... moreThey had 3 Phase power so I was able to hear it run and it seemed to run fine. I apologize that I do not have more pictures. It's being stored at a friends house because he had a chain fall that was needed to off load it. I bought this PM-50 from the estate of a well known and respected local woodworker. I was going to restore it and use it in my shop. However I'm so backlogged with other projects that my voice of reason(my wife) pointed out that I already have another PM jointer, and the shop is getting crowded(again) Point taken. She's right, and I'm going to lighten my work load. This machine probably ran daily in his shop. He was extremely prolific, creating thousands of pieces of art. Some of his pieces are owned by celeb's. A look-up of serial number 1570 on the vintagemachinery.org website indicates that this is a VERY EARLY PRODUCTION machine, therefore a great candidate for restoration. Made in the great state of Tennessee, not in Taiwan, like the newer ones. There is a pdf of the original manual there as well. The motor runs great, ... moreand on 110V. Jointer, 16" W.W. Carey, excellent condition, just removed from service
You are bidding on a vintage 16" jointer. Made by the W.W. Carey company based in Lowell. MA. It has a two knife cutter head and the blades are in good, sharp, usable condition. Recently taken out of service when I upgraded to a larger 20" unit. The table is 72" long and there is a large rabbeting ledge, that is.500 deep and almost 4" wide. Makes fast work of rabbeting jobs. Motor is a 3 phase unit and is 3 hp. 220/440 voltage, wired currently for low voltage. The motor wiring was going right into a box mounted on the wall which I used for my on off switch. You will need to mount your own switch on this jointer when you wire it in. Babbitt bearings are tight and have always been well lubricated. You can easily put this jointer right into production. Hand cranks for table are super smooth. Fence adjusts from 90 degrees ... moreto 45 degrees and anywhere in between. A powerful, heavy, old machine. No chatter, and if you feed your stock slowly on the finish cut and take a light pass you will find as nice a cut as a modern 4 knife head. Please be aware that this is an older machine and you will need to have an oil can on hand to lube the bearings, and it will require a bit of maintenance from time to time to keep it running for another hundred years. Local pickup is fine or I can ship anywhere in the USA if you set up the trucking. I can load with no problem for free, but if you want the unit crated there will be a materials charge to do that.
