Vintage Gardner Yates No 3 L-Y Bait Lure Spoon Nickel Original Box New Old Stock
VINTAGE YATES NO. 3 L-Y BAIT LURE Up for auction is a vintage fishing lure made by the Gardner Company of Sykesville. Maryland during the 1930's and 1940's. It was marketed as the"Yates L-Y Bait" and was available in 7 sizes. Designed as a saltwater lure, it's basically a spoon made to resemble a small fish. It's made of nickel silver and plated with polished chromium. It has a single"O'Shaughnessy" hook that is heavily tinned to prevent rust. The hook is attached to the spoon with a unique hasp that can be detached so that the eye of the hook can be passed through the bait and held securely in place. The hasp also makes it very easy to change hooks when desired. This particular lure is part of a"new old stock" supply that I recently purchased. All the lures are the"No. 3" size which ... moremeasures 3 3/4" long with size 7/0 hooks. The back side of the lure is marked with the model name and the patent number and date(6-10-30) The lure comes in its original box and wrapped in an information sheet with testimonials and other promotional language. The box has a nice graphic of the lure printed on one side. Condition of this collectible lure is EXCELLENT. As I mentioned earlier. It's part of a"new old stock" supply that I recently purchased. The lure is in original unused condition. The box is also in great shape. Overall, this vintage lure looks great and would make a fine addition to any collection. I found a large box of old matchbooks. Covers and matchboxes at an estate sale and will be listing them. Really cool stuff. I can see why folks collect these. This auction is for two from Syracuse, N.Y. both unused. One from the Yates Hotel and the other the Hotel Syracuse. Most of the matchbooks appear to be from the 1940s or 1950s. I would guess 1950s on these. Nice condition with very little wear. Great low opening bid. See my other auctions. I'm happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases.

The atlas is the first to compile and show in detail the various counties, cities and towns of Kansas. The maps show much details including towns, townships, sections, quarter sections, schools, some houses and other details. On some maps there are surveryor seals, signatures ... moreand script that were printed in the plate, many of these maps were originally procured from the Kansas Survey offices and reproduced for the atlas. The maps were first printed by lithographic process and then the color washes were hand applied, often with stencil for the large fields of color. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as seen in the pics, photographed against a dark background. There are maps and town plans on both sides as seen, so if framing one would have to choose a side to frame. Overall, a very nice rare example in very good condition for its age. Size: The entire page measures 17 1/2 by 28 inch with the map image area slightly smaller as shown in the pic with a margin all around. Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age printed on a light buff page and original handcoloring as issued. It is basically as seen in the pics. There is a very light dampstain in the margin. Otherwise it is very clean and would frame up nicely. Pics are of the actual map. Vintage Pewter 1/2 Pint Pot Bellied Victorian Tankard By James Yates
Check out my other items! Welcome To my Auction! You are invited to bid for this pewter pot bellied tankard. It is well made and around the top rim it has JAMES YATE and a Royal crown with VR 458. Presumably Victorian. It is small in size and is marked 1/2 PINT. The tankard is in need of refurbishment and has a lightly distorted top and bottom rim which could be hammered back to shape. Also there is a dent on the front of the body. Some of the grey pewter wash has rubbed off. However. If you like old things just as they are, the tankard does not leak, and is fully usable It has a good decorative handle and two lines of banding round it. A good solid make, in need of TLC! This is a beautifully detailed, 94-year-old map of Yates County New York. It measures about 9 by 10 inches(about 23 by 25 cm. and is in Very Good condition. This map is very detailed showing topographical features(rivers, lakes, creeks, etc. townships, cities and villages, routes of old railroads(both steam and electric) and of course old roads and highways. Improved roads(gravel or macadam) are colored in heavy red while unimproved(dirt) connecting roads are marked with thinner red lines. There are no asphalt or concrete roads- nothing like what we would call a highway today. Scale is about eight miles to the inch. This is a guaranteed genuine vintage map! Perfect ... morefor genealogy or other historical research. This map was printed on a single sheet of stock, and was bound into a 3-ring loose-leaf binder. On the reverse is printed a table of towns and villages and their populations down to villages as small as 50 population. Towns with Post Offices are marked. Yates American No. 1 Jointer 16" Blade Width 1920's Cast Iron 5 HP three phase direct drive motor Bed is about 7 feet long Has a 5 foot adjustable fence Jointer bed has cutout for cutting rabbets. This jointer has a lot of features that some jointers don't have like the direct drive motor. 4 blade cutter head with 4 1/4" cutting diameter, rabbeting edge, and the rear table can be adjusted to make hollow or spring joints. This jointer is in working condition. But it needs a magnetic switch. It is heavy at 2000 pounds. It must be picked up. I can get it onto a dual axle flatbed trailer.
