Vintage Delta Model 37-207 6" Jointer & Cast Iron, Art-Deco Stand
This auction is for an older Delta jointer with a very desirable cast iron base. The unit is very clean but is in need of a switch to make it functional. The motor is not original. It is a 3/4 hp. Dual voltage, A.O. Smith. The belt/pulley guard is cast into the backside of the base. Knobs, screws, nuts and bolts appear to be the originals. To the best of my knowledge, and after looking it over carefully, I have found no cracks or chips in the iron. The machine comes from a dry environment so the inner base is clean. The Saturn ball on the fence adjusting handle is metal not the commonly seen plastic. I am listing this as a"local pick-up" however, if the seller wishes to make their own shipping arrangements, I would be willing to accommodate that. Thanks for looking.

Up for your consideration is an Oliver 24" jointer Model 24-KA-12. The tag reads Machine No. 27355. Serial No. 12. One of the spokes on the the adjusting wheel on the in feed table is cracked, and the locknut has a broken ear. This does not affect the operation of the crank, but should be repaired. The journal for the worm gear on the same mechanism has a previous repair and it has cracked again(see photos) These are minor repairs. All adjusting parts and tables move freely. The motor is 220 volt 3 phase, 5 horsepower, 3600 rpm. One tag says GE Induction Motor, the other says Woods Shaftless Motor. I wired the machine and it ran nicely. The cover on the switch box is missing. The table is in good condition, but may need a little cleaning. The head unit has three knives and is round. For sale is 1940(Ser. No. 1-1400) Delta No. 654 6" Jointer. It has a single phase. Repulsion-induction,1/2 HP, 110/220 V, 50 HZ,1425 RPM motor. The motor is set to run on 110 volts and when pluged into the current 60 HZ power system the motor runs at 1720 RPM. The jointer does work but needs to be cleaned and adjusted. The stand was sand blasted and repainted a few years ago so it doesn't need much. It doesn't have a belt guard, but that's typical of the older machines. I also have a 1940 Delta 14" band saw for sale. I bought this PM-50 from the estate of local legend Terry Hansen. I was going to restore it and use it in my shop. However I'm so backlogged with other projects that my voice of reason(my wife) pointed out that I already have another PM jointer, and the shop is getting crowded(again) Point taken. She's right, and I'm going to lighten my work load. This machine probably ran daily in Terry's shop. He was extremely prolific, creating thousands of pieces of art. Some of his pieces are owned by the Bush family, and many other celeb's. If you google"terry hansen woodworking" you'll see links to his website. There are youtube videos and many pics out there on google images, too. Even a couple of his decorative boxes are for sale right here on ebay. A look-up of serial number 1570 on the vintagemachinery.org website ... moreindicates that this is a VERY EARLY PRODUCTION machine, therefore a great candidate for restoration. Made in the great state of Tennessee, not in Taiwan, like the newer ones. There is a pdf of the original manual there as well. The motor runs great, and on 110V. Powermatic 6" Jointer Powermatic jointer. 6" knives. Model 053. Cuts fine. But there is a nick in the knives. That is easily fixed by moving one knife over a hair. There is a stain on the cast iron top from a table leg that had a glue line that needed a little more time to dry. It does not affect the function in any way. It was cleaned off. But left a stain. Table surface is nice and smooth. Work pieces slide across with no problem. It is a little saw-dusty. But that happens to tools when you use them. I don't have the original manual. I have a printout of one I found online. It has a dust chute adapter on the side for connecting to a dust collector. Contact me if you would like to come see it in person before the auction ends. You are bidding on this dust chute you see pictured here. It came off a Delta jointer. Model 654(old style) Later, it acquired the model number 37-307. I do not have definitive proof that it is a stock item sold by Delta at the time(I looked for a little bit) but this doesn't look home-made because of the curved section at the top and the perfect folds in the sheet metal. It looks factory to me- perhaps a guy went to a metal shop and had it made? I have no way of knowing for sure. I will ship this via USPS Parcel Post.

Oliver Jointer 6" Model 144 AD
Oliver Model 144 AD 6" Jointer. 51" bed length. I have not tested the machine or seen it run. I can tell you that when I acquired it. There was still sawdust and chips falling out of it from recent use. Motor is 1/2 HP, 3 Phase, 1.67 A, 220 V, 60 Cycle, 3600 RPM. Bearings appear to be ok from hand turning. Fence is loose and may be missing a knob to lock it down; I think this could be overcome without much difficulty. Blades are in decent condition-few nicks near fence where use was heaviest. Sharp enough that I cut my finger while inspecting them. Overall, very rugged machine. With a little TLC this machine could have a lot of life left in it. Oliver machinery is some of the best woodworking equipment ever made. Includes the cast base as shown in pictures. This is priced right at $625, but I will consider reasonable offers. Oliver Jointer 6" Model 133 B
Oliver Model 133 B 6" Jointer. 41" bed length. I have not tested the machine or seen it run. I can tell you that when I acquired it. There was still sawdust and chips falling out of it from recent use. Motor is 1/2 HP, 3 Phase, 1.4 A, 220 V, 60 Cycle, 3450 RPM. Bearings appear to be ok from hand turning. Blade guard rubs outfeed table slightly; I think this could be adjusted up without much difficulty. Blades are in decent condition-few nicks near fence where use was heaviest. Overall, very rugged machine. With a little TLC this machine could have a lot of life left in it. Oliver machinery is some of the best woodworking equipment ever made. I recently upgraded to a Boice Crane 8" jointer to match match my Rockwell/Delta 8" jointer. And I no longer need the six inch jointer. This works excellent, may need a new belt before to long. Table top is 42" long, left table is 22 1/4" right table is 18 1/4" Both tables move freely and drop back for easy access to change blades or adjust. Has a 4" dust port, was hardwired in, so it has no plug on the cable. Sits on a 16" x 17" base, 34 3/4" tall. It has a 3/4 HP 1725 RPM motor, 60 Cycle, 32 AMP 3 phase, wired for 200 volts. A very nice piece of equipment. Still in original shape, never refurbished, seldom used, purchased from a local high school. What you see in the pictures is exactly how it was when taken out of service I will likely vacuum it out and blow the dust off. Cause that is all it needs I also have a Powermatic Belt Sander. Model 30 and a Powermatic model 66 Table Saw for sale the sander is pictured. The table saw is not I Live in central Virginia. DELTA VARIABLE SPEED BENCH JOINTER 6 INCH Model 37-070 Extras
Obviously it's not a long bed floor model but for a bench model it works good. Only thing broke are the 2 adjust handles on the fence. They can be purchased for about 15 bucks each but I'm more than making up for it with 3 new sets of knives plus I just installed the set in the machine. I have used it since but for about 3 or 4 boards. Get yourself a small wet stone to take out small Knicks and make the knives last longer. One of the down sides of this and most bench jointers is the tables get oxidized. Then there is friction and the wood is hard to push through. A while ago I removed the tables and ran them gently through my big drum sander. They are now flatter than I think original. Then I hand sanded down to 1000 grit then polished on my buffer wheel. Then coated with(non wax) top coat which is a wood workers machine top sealer/ ... morecleaner. Prevents rust on steel tops like a table saw and prevents oxidization on aluminum/zinc tops like this. Check out the pictures. There is no wax to contaminate your wood but it's totally smooth and flat and no friction. For shipping I am removing and wrapping up the 2 tops and the fence The fence totally squares up with the top. I use a 6 inch machine square and it's perfect. I'll mark the 2 pieces right and left when facing the working side or front of the machine. Except for the 2 fence handles that an ex gorilla employee broke everything else is perfect. Because you really don't need to crank down hard on those handles I've just used pliers gently and it's worked fine so I never ordered new ones. Otherwise for the money it's a great machine. I installed a 4 inch dust collection chute because I try to control dust in my shop and this particular unit only had a rectangular opening which dumped the chips out to the left of the machine.
