8" Delta Rockwell Jointer Cutterhead with knives 37-315
This is a 3 straight knife cutterhead removed from a 1970's era Delta jointer. When they were badged under Rockwell. The knives still have plenty of life left in them. Give them a quick sharpening and they are ready to go. includes the gibs as well. The bearings are included; no damage to the bearings was observed, but they are 40 years old and included for reference only not as a working item. I will include the source of new bearings to the winning bidder upon request, they were maybe 10 bucks each if I recall. The second picture includes dimensions for this cutterhead. Please check your machine before bidding to ensure it will fit. The cutterhead is in good useable shape. The base is intact with no cracks or breaks. a few extra holes on the switch side which are easily patched, otherwise pristine. You get the 4 base side pieces, plus the top pulley cover and potbelly pieces, the motor mount assembly and all hardware. The 4 knurled nuts for the back are here but they have plier marks. It has new bearings and redone electricals. This type of electrical starter provides great protection for the 1.5HP motor. I just had the knives sharpened and I believe I have an extra set of knives. And if not, I will discount accordingly. Joins perfectly and runs on either 110 or 220 single phase. It is set up for 220V single phase now and it could be changed easily to 110V. If you are wanting to try it out, we can wire it again to 220 in the shop. A beautiful machine that should last for a few more generations. Rockwell Delta 8" Long-Bed Jointer, Series 37-315
Little used one owner machine that was for personal use. Machine still has the original knives which have no nicks. Also included is the original operating manual. The 8" Long-Bed Jointer joints and surfaces stock up to 8 1/16" wide. The jointer has an extra-long 5-1/2 foot bed and a 4 x 34 inch center mounted fence. The motor is 19.2/ 9.5 Amps and 1.5 HP; presently wired for 220 volts. The approximate weight of the machine is 325 lbs.
