Ryobi 500K-NP ---Built-in Numbering and Perforating!!!
This is the last of the 3 machines we had and it has served us well. We have a spare parts press for this and tons of spare parts. This model has the built in numbering and perforating unit and is a single color press with stream feeder. Excellent Machine. We do only longer runs on this press and we found that the pumps run best outside of the machine so we have taken them out so they stay cool. They could be put back into the press but we do not reccommend it. This machine has a skip/step function as well which allows you to run precollated NCR out of the box. We have as many perf wheels and and strike perforations as you will ever need for this. This is the best press I have ever run in my life-time. We also have all the manuals including the tech repair manual which is rare. The machine has a small mark in the impression cylinder caused ... moreby the previous owner. This type of holder is designed to hold type assembled into words to be stamped onto a surface. It is a combination brass holder with a carbon steel backing plate and spring loaded plate set into a hardwood handle. It is strong and secure. This standard spring type holder is a 4" holder although measuring it shows it to be just shy of 4 inches. This refers to the amount of type it can hold left to right. The type is then tightened into the holder by means of a thumb screw mounted at one end. As well as a spring loaded plate at the top. The backplate is made of steel and allows proper line of sight to determine the line on which the type will be printed. These typeholders are fully adjustable to take type from 8 point to 36 point. The metal backing plate as well as metal spring plate on top do show some signs of rust from non use which ... moreis typical of this type of product. Antique 19th century Bookbinding gold leaf wheel 87mm diameter 3mm edge
Superb example of an antique 19th century bookbinders gold leaf wheel with intricate pattern. I believe the wheel is brass and is stamped Timbury. Fetter Lane, London, who was an engraver and bookbinding toolcutter from 1785 to 1884. The wheel runs freely and the tool is firmly set in a wooden handle which looks original. 7" x 11.5" nipping press. Has a slight split in the wooden base. As shown in the last picture, but this only appears to be on the surface and doesn't effect its operation. An adjustment hole in one of the metal arms has been damaged and will no longer hold the pin, this isn't a big deal as the wider adjustment can be used with extra packing. This Unit works fine but has a couple of minor problems. I listed it as not working(which it does) THIS IS NOT A PARTS MACHINE. Our Print Shop used this machine daily. 1. The air pump on the bottom of cart is missing a couple of springs behind the knobs therefore the pump is always on high mode. 2. The machine is designed to make multiple scores in one pass but this machine only will do one at a time. for multiple scores paper must be feed in for every different crease) 3. the dial needs to be calibrated so if you fold 11" in half and set the electronic dial to 5.5 the fold will not be in the middle. It might be 4.75 for example.
