This is an old book binders spine press probably in excess of a hundred years. The machine is as far as I can see in good order structurally but has decorative damage as a result of age related wear and tear. All the relevant parts move although I am not sure how it works. The handle is a soft material not wood and again I am not sure of its construction. There is a brass plate atttached to the foot of the machine name Fred Ulmer and his address in Farringdon st London The machine is german being made in Leipzig by Brohmen? I do not know much about this machine other than to say its really well engineered and very heavy.
