This Ribbon Writer imprints the exact amount you input into the machine and will punch out small holes in the check to make sure the check cannot be forged. It also will print either your company name or the word "REGISTERED" above the amount. See the last photo for sample imprints from this machine. This machine is clean and comes with 2 keys. To lock the machine, insert the key, pull down the handle towards you all they way then turn the key and pull it out before releasing the handle. The handle will now not be able to imprint anything locking the machine until the key is inserted. This way nobody can imprint a check without your knowledge.

Check printer, check machine and check signer. The Paymaster check imprinter machine was commonly used for payroll to imprint the amount to protect against check fraud and check alteration. The Paymaster X-550 is imprinted with ink. This was manufactured in the USA and was discontinued in the 1990’s. Has a Repeat Lever which allows you to repeat the check amount each time& a Clear Lever which allows you to clear the amount after each check is printed. Has Lock with key as you can see in my photos when the handle is upright it is in the unlocked position and when the handle is lowered in the forward position is it then locked and protected. Manufactured in the 1960’s-70’s Original Price $353.50 Original Factory Paint Serial number: 87C537756 View all my photos below for what is printed on this machine. I tested the paymaster and it is in proper working condition. The Black/Red ink rollers need to be re-inked. As I was testing each and every number die everything printed in a red color, the testing proved good every number in every column printed and embossed and the pressure bar worked great. This piece of history with minimal surface wear is in fantastic used condition. It is a super piece of vintage machinery/typography which makes a great collectable and is sold as is. The Paymaster S-550 Check Protection System Paymaster Corporation started manufacturing Paymaster check writer also referred to as check protector. Check printer, check machine and check signer. The Paymaster check imprinter machine was commonly used for payroll to imprint the amount to protect against check fraud and check alteration. The Paymaster S-550 is imprinted with ink and embossed. This was manufactured in the USA and was discontinued in the 1990’s. Seven column Paymaster Check Writer. Comes with key, a very loud alarm if the machine is picked up while in a locked state and its protective cover. This Paymaster has a repeat/clear lever for multiple copies of same amount or reset to zero. The alarm works great but the battery box needs TLC when installing the batteries. It didn't seem to make any difference which way the batteries were installed as it worked the same. When the machine is locked down the alarm will go off loudly if the machine is picked up triggering the alarm.
