Up for auction we have the Paymaster Series S-1000 Check Writer. It is the vintage avocado green with a bright green handle. The levers all move with ease. The“clear” lever works to bring the display back to zeroes, and the key actually locks the handle in place when turned. The inside looks pretty clean. The back has“Carl’s Drive-In” written on it in black marker. I do not know where this might have been located. The outside may need to be cleaned up a bit. There is one larger rust spot on the back left corner. Please see photos. Notes: This item was donated to a charitable organization and I am selling it for them. Really nice(heavy) example of the classic Paymaster check writer and protector in green. I haven't been able to find out what years this model was produced(the patent dates to the early 1930s but I doubt it is that old) The look reminds me of some 1950s equipment I've seen. But that doesn't mean much. Seems to work OK- it embosses/ prints the amount. There is a ribbon in it- dry. But some color is showing up on the impression. This is a really cool vintage check making machine. Overall it's in good condition and it appears to still work. The buttons work and the handle still moves. But I have no way to fully test that it still works. There are some pieces missing from the bottom and it does have a dent on one of the corners. Pretty cool as it says on back it cost $ 139.50 new. Paymaster's Model S-1000 was manufactured in the early 1980's. It prints and embosses checks to prevent fraud. Ink is refilled easily and quickly. This particular machine is in mint condition. It works perfectly and still has the key and original cover. Supplies are available from Paymaster.com and it can still be used. The list price on this model was $373.50 In a lovely shade of Jade Green. This little machine is so pretty you could just use it as a display piece.
