We are selling it because the CNC programmer was out of date so we decided to convert this mill to a manual machine. The head itself is in excellent condition. It was used very little in a manufacturing support tool room. This machine was NOT in a production tool shop. The head has a collet system installed. The collet adapter and the entire set of collets are included. If you choose to buy this we will construct improved packaging prior to delivery. I bought this unit in the mid-80’s and it has seen only light occasional use in my home hobby shop since then. The guy I bought it from said he replaced at least one of the lead screws and I think the spindle bearings. I then took everything apart. Cleaned and painted it, and rebuilt the top side of the head. I replaced the backgear bearings and put a really nicely balanced Baldor 110/220 V single phase motor on it(presently wired for 110 V) The 32” table has an X-Axis Servo Feed(with a 4” table extension I made with this mill) a Wesco Kwik Cool Spray Mist, and work light. Back-gear and three speed power down feed(0.006, 0.003, 0.0015”rev) with down and up stop trips works fine. Bridgeport EZ-Tack CNC Virtical Milling machine open bed knee mill R-8 Spindle
This is a Bridgeport EZ-Trak. Late 90’s. It is in good running condition the monitor has been upgraded to a LCD. It is an EZ-Trak SK but the mother board has been upgraded to a 486 DX. The coolant is controlled by a solenoid that is wired into operators control panel. It will come on and off when the spindle is turned on and off if the selector switch is turned on. Because we were using it with a rotary phase converter it is currently set so the computer plus directly into a 110v wall outlet but it can easily be put back to run on internal power supply if you have a good clean 3 phase power source. We will set it up however you want it. It is currently wired for 220 3 phase but can be set up to run on 440v. 416v, 220v or 208v. Everything is in good working order to the best of our knowledge. This is a great little milling machine. It cuts as good as a Bridgeport but is about half the weight. The head is a Bridgeport vari drive head with R-8 spindle. The base is from an Index milling machine. It comes with the vise shown. The motor is 2hp 3 phase and has a VFD on it so it runs on 240 volt single phase power. Everything works great on this machine. This is a great way to have Bridgeport power and still be able to move it. I weighs around 1000 lbs so you need to be able to move something that heavy. Bridgeport 3-Axis CNC Series 1 Knee Mill with Centroid Control single or 3 phase
Real 3-axis Bridgeport CNC machine equipped with a Centroid version 8 control and all the goodies to go with it! This machine looks& runs great for its age. As it started life a 1982 manual 9x42 mill. Sometime in the past few years before we purchased it, it was converted to a full 3-axis Centroid 8 system, running a Pentium processor. Everything on the CNC works well, including the remote pendant. Mill has programmable spindle and Erickson Quick Change tooling(see pictures of what is included) so it can make quick work of tool changes and different spindle speeds. Head sounds nice with no noticeable bearing or gear issues, and table moves smoothly under the control of CNC drive motors and ballscrews on X, Y, and Z axis. We're a production CNC shop. And we'd keep this if we had the room(I even thought about taking it home! but ... morewe need the space for other equipment, so this one has got to go since our shop is too small! We used to use it to bring in large programs and right now it is not working correctly. We do not need the machine so we have not tried fixing it. Mechanically the speed control is off because we could not find a correct replacement part for a potentiometer and subbed in one that allows it to run but does not keep the spindle speed correct per the programming. The machinists have to override the spindle speed to make it run where they want to. Otherwise the motors and ways are in great shape. And you can program on it manually fine. The machine has VERY low hours thus the mechanical components should be VERY solid. We have never ran production on it and was used sparsely. Come take a look at it. I think you will be impressed. I've owned this machine since 1999 and knew it for 15 years before then. It has had little use in this time and it runs very well. Bearings are good. Machine travels are as follows: X 34" Y 14.5" Z 5" Knee approx 15" This was a real cnc not an after thought by that I mean factory ballscrews not a kit retrofitted. this machine weighs approx. 5000 pounds of Box way iron. The best thing about these rigid ram bridgeports is the hollow Z axis Ball screw which is bolted to the top of the quill. the complete vari drive spindle head is at my other location which is not in the pictures and going through a rebuild. I have installed new $500 Abec 7 spindle bearings and will finish the head if someone is interested in buying this machine. Yes i will include that depending on price, installed on the mill and trammed in(New belts, clutch hub bearings, vari drive bushings, back gear bearings) The DC servo motors ... moreare completely redone, with new Nachi bearings and modified back encoder mount for 1/4" hollow encoders that Ajax sells. Cincinnati Retrofitted CNC Vertical Mill Milling Macihne, not Bridgeport
I have a 20 inch by 40 inch vertical Cincinnati Cintimatic milling machine that was retrofitted with an Ah-Ha stepper motor control about 15 years ago. New heavy duty stepper motors were added at the same time. The machine served me very well and was running with no problems when taken out of service about 10 years ago. It has a manual tool changer. If I can find them. All of my tooling is included in the price. Probably a dozen pieces IF I CAN FIND THEM. Also the machine had a new spindle motor when rebuilt with a new speed control. It can be run on 220V single phase. This is very handy. For a number of reasons this machine is not under power and can NOT be seen prior to purchase. It is in locked dry storage near Pine Bush. NY and I don't live in that area at this time. This is a great deal. It is a very heavy, rigid machine with a large ... morex-y travel. You just don't find machinery like this. You can load the whole top surface with parts to machine and walk away. Or CNC machine some large pieces. all three axis x,y,z are CNC controlled. If you look closely at the photos you will see the large ball slide x-y ways on this machine. It is very well made. Also the z axis has a manual option if I remember correctly. The machine is sold as is where is with NO WARRANTY. You must pay in full prior to picking up the machine. ALSO you must hire an experienced rigger with a STEEL DECK rollback truck. Please do not show up with an aluminum deck car carrier or a car trailer. It is a heavy machine. Probably around 8,000 lbs. I have skates and can move the machine to the door. No loading dock. You will have to winch it onto your vehicle. not a bridgeport or haas or clausing mill or machining center. it is a cnc vertical toolroom tool room machinist machine shop milling mill machine. Note that just the 3 stepper motors and the scrap value of the rest of the machine is worth $1000 or more. THIS IS A GOOD DEAL. Bridgeport Series II 2 CNC retrofit Mill Milling Machine
Heres a used Bridgeport Series II which is in nice shape and a Ajax retrofit started. Box ways look nice. A few table marks on top. SEM servos have new bearings and custom end caps for the encoders. 1 encoder installed needs the other 2($175) a piece. all 3 axis prewire installed. New spindle bearings along with a complete top end kit( belts bearings bushings) X axis reballed with new support bearings.32" x travel, 14" y travel, 5" quill travel, 14" knee travel. Erickson 30 quick change with spanner and some tooling.This mill is not working right now and is in the process of retrofit, You must finish the retrofit process with the purchase of a drive and install a pc computer. along with a couple other things needed(3hp inverter, 2 air solenoids and misc) The 2 contactors for the E-stop and Flood are installed along with ... morethe 5v relay for the brake.
