It has a 1 3/8-inch clear hole. It is in good used condition. The only defects I see are that on one of the screw threads I see a small chip that does not seem to affect the operation and the same screw has a slightly loose stay that holds the screw in place. Lathe Motor Mount Belt Tensioner Southbend Metal Lathe
For sale is a bench top motor mount for Southbend and other metal Lathes. It is set up for the V-belt type as shown in the photos. It is used and has evidence of use. But it looks useable. It only comes as shown in the photo no extra pieces, also the oil caps appear to be missing and the entire cup could be replaced if that is important to you. I did notice one ding in the large flat wheel but does not appear to affect the performance. It is old. Therefore sold with no returns- it is heavy made of cast iron which is reflected in the shipping price.

Special lathe Tool for Southbend, Atlas, Logans and other make lathes
I am not sure what tthis lathe tool is called. Its the first of its kind I have seen and appears to be commercially made although there are no manufacturers markings on it. The threads on this measure 1.5 x 8 inches. In front of a nice knurled fore end. The taper is MT 2. I would describe this as unused but since I do not know its history I am not calling it new. The threads bind up slightly in one of my 1.5 x 8 face plates but go in smoothly in others. A little lube might help, but being lazy, as I am, I did not use any in making this check. Paypal only; shipping will be USPS by priority mail. An MT 2 to MT 3 adaptor will permits use in MT 3 threaded headstocks in addition to the tailstock. I think this tool would be useful in checking for spindle registration when fitting a backplates to chucks that come without one.

This is a very handy oversized collection of tools that I use on a 9" Southbend. They are from a larger lathe and would not typically fit in a 9" lantern. I have made a custom lantern that fits perfectly in the steady rest of a 9" Southbend and holds these tools. The large boring bar holder is a# 9 Armstrong. The boring bar is 3/4" X 11 1/2" and holds 1/4" X 1/4" stock. The smaller boring bar holder is a J.H. Williams# 9. The boring bar is a Armstrong# 07-X. 1/2" X 8" and holds 3/16" X 3/16" stock on both ends. The cut off tool and the threading tool are both Armstrong. I found these larger tools to be ideal for bigger work without the need to overwork your lathe. I hope the pictures will fill in any blanks. Everything is in great condition. The rocker is a little fat for the lantern, ... morethe piece of high speed steel shown in the picture with the rocker fits perfectly but will need to be shaped. This is a 10 piece collection.
