I am selling this unit as used because the choke lever is broken and needs to be replaced. I am not sure if the whole carb will have to be replaced or if just the lever and butterfly can be replaced. As you can see in the photos there is a scratch on the unit that runs right over where the lever would normally stick out. When I tried to remove the butterfly from the choke I did bend it slightly so it may also need to be replaced. In addition to the damage I am also selling this unit as used because I am not sure if it has previously been used. The customer that returned this unit indicated that they had not used it. For auction is a custom made generator set consisting of a 5000W brushed 24-70VDC motor driven by a 250cc Briggs& Stratton OHV engine. The DC motor-generator is type ME709 and is made by Mars Electric of Milwaukee. Mars is now known as Motenergy. Link to the motor specs is found here: This gen set was built for a university engineering hybrid race car to charge a large bank of batteries and was used during testing. The car was never completed for the race so both engine and motor have about 2 hours of operation time. Engine was built in August of 2009. I do not have the fuel tank or original airbox. But they are easily found online. I am listing it for parts/repair because I can not get the engine to stay running. I could get it to start and run for short periods of time but never for longer than 5 seconds. This generator would be ideal for a bank of storage batteries that are typically charged via PV or wind turbine but occasionally require an additional means of charging. The motor/generator can be wired up to function as a starter for convenience and automatic starting. With 12VDC the motor is a perfect starter to save your shoulder from pull starting it.
