Yamaha Generator. EF6600DE, So has electric start option and over 6,000 watts of power. It has a 220 plug, I believe a 25 and 30 amp 120volt, and 2 standard 15 volt outlets. It was purchased new in 2009 and has low hours. I am a certified Yamaha technician so it has been babied, always used Yamaha fuel stabilizer and oil. The engine oil has been changed many times a year. I used to use it to power a tire changer and balancer in a trailer when I had a mobile setup, but for the last 3 years most of its run time has been getting started every couple weekends and I would often take the old gas out and run it in my lawn mower and put fresh into the generator so never ran on very old gas. You are viewing a MEP-003A military diesel generator. It is rated at 10KW but the military under-rates the generators by a minimum of 20 percent. This gen will run 12k easily. It has an Onan 4 cyl air cooled diesel engine. Power is connected via binding posts and there is a convinience outlet on the front. Output is switcheable you can set it for 120v@ 106 amp single phase. 120/240@ 53 amps per leg single phase or 240 3-phase at 36 amps. It show 387 hours on the meter which is pretty low for these generators. I flushed the whole thing out, then put new filters and fluids in it. It may not be the prettiest one but it runs great. The new owner will need to get a pair of 12v batteries for it they are not included. It weighs a good 1200 pounds so no one is going to walk off with it from your back yard. MILITARY 15KW DIESEL GENERATOR MEP-004A & TRAILER RUNS GREAT NEW FILTERS
You are viewing a US military surplus diesel generator MEP-004A on a trailer. It is rated at 15KW with a minimum of 20 percent reserve so it will run 18K no problem. It is a 120/208& 240/416 volt 60hz 3-phase generator. You can set it for 120/208 and use the 3 120 volt legs as single phase or I have instructions to convert it to single phase and use the full power output. Power is connected via binding posts and there is a 120v convinience outlet by the control panel. I put new filters and fluids in it and it fired right up. I put a 50% load on it and it ran fine. I used an aux fuel line to draw diesel from an external tank and that worked properly. The engine still draws and returns from the main tank the aux fuel pump senses the main tank level and fills the main tank from the aux sounce when it senses the main tank is at 1/3. The gen ... moreshows 2406 hours on it and is very clean inside. Markings inside indicate it was serviced by the military in 2012. Everything appears to work properly. These generators are very durable and are designed for long run periods. It has a Whites 4 cyl diesel engine which is pretty efficient. Most people dont need more than a 15K gen, the larger gens have a higher fuel draw even running at partial power. You will need to get a pair of 12v batteries for it. I slaved it off my truck to start it. The trailer is in good condition, tires have plenty of tread. It does have a big, high pintle hitch, the average civ truck is too low to tow it. It is a Y1-4634 unit, from what we can read on the plate, it a 120-208-240-416-480 volt output, 100 amp 3 phase, 60 amp single phase, 60 amp 3 phase, and 20 amp single phase We did remove the lower mesh covers to inspect the brushes in the rear of the generator. And all appear to be in good condition, not frozen in their sleeves, and of good length This unit has 1081 hours on it. The hour meter in the tach says 8.7 hours, as we did discover the cable to the tach to have loosened up on the engine side, we re tightened it, now the tach works, as well as the hour meter The actual hour meter for the unit is electric. I put fresh 89 octane gas into the Clean tank. And it started right up! It needed minor carburetor adjustments, but it smoothed out and ran good! Smooth! The volt meter was reading 110 Volts, I plugged a hand grinder into the 110 Outlet, and it ran the grinder No Issues! No smoke when running when you press the"Kill Switch" on the side, it has a little very minute blue smoke on shut down. VERY little! This is a Solid, Well Built, Operating Generator. 1940's - 50's Kohler electric plant generator, light plant runs antique vintage
This generator ran when I used it a few months ago. I have no reason to believe that it will not. However due to the age of the unit and some recent dealings with buyers who had unreasonable expectations of half-century old equipment and to head off people having unreasonable expectations I have listed it as for parts or not working. Please remember this generator is probably 60-75 years old. It is in good condition for its age but is best for someone who collects these or likes to tinker with old things. Please do not expect a new generator. Due to shipping weight and cost,There will be absolutely no returns or refunds on this item. The only thing that is broken on this is the kill switch(you have to choke it off) and one of the rubber feet is broken(I have the foot and will include it) made by Kohler of Kohler back in the 40's or 50's ... moreas near as I can tell from looking online. This little guy starts up on a couple pulls. The light lights up and all the electric connections work. Comes with a 20A lead cord with a few 120v plugs on it. I have run circular saws and other small power tools off of it. Never a problem with power draw. Please see the picture of the plate for all specifications Seems to be complete. The shut off switch is there but does not work so it needs to be choked off. Its heavy for its size. One of the rubber feet is broken off. But I have it. Should be an easy fix. Please email me with any questions. Shipping for this will be expensive due to its weight. I'm guessing 70-80lbs at around $1 per pound. This unit is whisper quiet.Its a lil beat up but runs like new.the xhoke knob must be held in the on position while pullin the rope which never bothered us.probably a little spray would fix that and one of the connectors for the dc charging cable is gone.I dont know if its in there or not.All in all a great japanese quality unit that still runs and makes power great.Its been in my garage for years and started on the 5th pull.I COULD SHIP IT BUT IT WILL BE IN THE 80 DOLLAR RANGE FOR SHIPPING MAYBE MORE.ITS HEAVY.REAL HEAVY
