It features a 6KW generator that is powered by a very smooth running liquid coled Focs diesel engine. This unit was made in the U S A and has been part of our local Caterpillar dealers rental fleet since it was new so it has been serviced and inspected on a regular basis by the CAT dealer. The light plant was built in 2007 and delivered to the rental company in 2008. It has the original paint. Good tires and with its 50 gallon diesel tank it has provides an incredible 60 hours of continuous run time. The light plant has 4 very powerful mercury halide lamps that are rated at 1.000 watts each. The lights are on separate switches so each one can be individually controlled. According to the data plate on the generator it also produces 240V to power the light balests. The tower itself is about 20' tall and can be rotated 360 degrees from the ground so setup is fast and easy. This unit comes complete with lamps. Bulbs, outriggers, forklift pockets, tiedown lugs, a lifting eye, 2" ball hitch, safety chains, and fully sealed trailer lights. The light plant is 6' wide. 15' long, and weighs 1900 lb.We have towed the light plant at highway speeds. And it pulls straight and smooth. Trailer mounted equipment such as generators and light plants do not have titles so this one does not come with one. We have used the light plant. And we believe that this is a fine piece of equipment that has a long and useful life ahead of it. this is a 1999 generac commercial 25kw diesel backup generator. it is set up for 3 phase. it is complete and ready to go. tenant was moving out and new tenant is a food packaging and couldnt have diesel in the warehouse. so it had to go. comes with automatic transfer switch with exercise timer. This is NOT A HOME DEPOT unit. These are heavy duty. its a RS12000 thats running power will peak at a much higher watt. Starting power can be verified thru onan. I had this in a home in Colorado and brought this to Florida a few years ago and Had is serviced at Cummings/Onan dealer in Miami before putting in storage. They changed the lock out valve and test ran the unit. I have this in a Dry POD in storage and will place on a pallet to ship if needed. The shipping is determined by your location. I must apologize for the lack of pictures and the poor quality pictures, but i have a really bad back and couldn't even move the unit to show the other side. Description of the unit is its been sitting in the pod for some time and before that it was in the Florida sun. Now its ready to work for you. 40 KW Katolight John Deere Diesel 2007 Backup Emergency Generator Set Load Test
You are looking at a 2007 Katolight 40kw generator with a 5030TF275 John Deere Diesel Engine. This is a 5 cylinder 3.0 liter turbocharged engine. It has 4300 hours on it. I used it in my spray foam insulation trailer EVERY day. As you can see. The Start and Off buttons are worn off the controller. It has the upgrade KDGC-500 Digital Controller with 10 foot umbilical cord to mount wherever is convenient for you. Last spring I replaced the water pump and oil cooler. You are looking at it just how I pulled it out of my trailer. It has NEVER seen water. Not rain. Not a hose, not a power washer. I'm not hiding anything! Oil was changed around every 150-200 hours. The last 2 photos show the controller while the generator is running. The first one was with a flash so you can see the description of the numbers. The second was is without a flash ... moreso you can actually see the numbers on the display. You can see it is running at 245 Volts, on the AB leg 0.0 Amps. And 60.5 Hertz. The engine has 37 psi oil pressure. 74 percent fuel, 83 degree coolant and 13.5 battery voltage. The bad. Last month it started running poorly. I brought it to my JD dealer. They tore it down and found a unit injector let loose and were not able to put a new one in the bore. They put it back together with the bad injector in the block. But left the injector lifter off, so it is not riding on the cam. They also left the pushrods and rockers off of the valves for that cylinder. It is essentially a 4 cylinder now. In this configuration it will only start with a little ether assist unless already warmed up. The engine will only carry about 50 amps and it is really puffing black smoke. At 40 amps it runs good. You can definitely tell it is missing a cylinder though. I can hook it to a load and run it for you if you wish to see it. The 75 gallon Base Fuel tank will only be included at the buy it now price. It has normal scuffs. Scratches and some surface rust as a normal piece of older equipment. The cover over the radiator is dented in quite a bit, but the radiator is in good shape and operates well. It includes the attached muffler. It is not shown in the photos below, but we do have the cover over the generator wiring panel. See photos below for more details on physical condition. We connected the generator up to a portable tank(not included) and a borrowed battery(not included) and the generator started right up and ran well. It runs at 1800 RPM.
