Yale University Class '38 Cast-Iron Reunion Bookends & '04 Magnifier Paperweight
Two items. Yale University cast-iron bookends. Class of'38, commemorating the fifteen-year class reunion in 1953(at nearly nine pounds, these are the heaviest university bookends I've handled, and it is possible they are not cast-iron but bronze or some combination) The years 1938 and 1953 are both on the front bookends. They are in nearly fine condition, with a few small nicks and scrapes and some wear to the felt cushions at bottom. The other item is a Yale class of 1904 50th two-piece reunion paperweight with(as issued) removable magnifier glass top. It measures about 2 1/2" in diameter. Someone wrote an inscription on the opening blank page and it is dated January 1, 1912. The secretary of the"Society of the 22" in 1857 was Robert A. Beckwith. He became a photographer and co-owner of the Whitney& Beckwith photography studio in Norwalk. Connecticut- and he re-purposed the handstamp from his college days to cancel some of the revenue tax stamps he placed on the stereographs and card photographs he sold between 1864 and 1866. Tax stamps were required on all photographs sold between August 1. 1864 and July 31, 1866 and were a means used by the federal government to raise money for the war against the Confederate States of America. Offered here are two such original photographs- one a stereograph photograph and the the other a CDV carte de visite photograph- each bearing a Scott R14 2c Proprietary Orange revenue tax stamp pre-canceled with this Skull and Bones handstamp. Up for auction today. Are these reproduction cast bronze, bright nickel plated, antique safe hinge finials. WOW do they look great on the safe. Finials are a 5/8-11 thread. I had to tap the hinge holes in my safe to except this thread. I used a 5/8-11 tap and a small crescent wrench to do this. With a little oil and a little care to make sure the tap stayed straight. There was no problem. The base of the finial were it seats on the hinge is 1& 3/16 across. The thread in the finials ended up a little off center so they look a little wobbly going on. Vintage YALE METAL PRODUCTS CO. Model 99C, LEVEL WINDING Casting Reel w/4:1 Mult
Up for bid is one vintage YALE METAL PRODUCTS CO. Model 99C. LEVEL WINDING Casting Reel w/4:1 Multiplier. This reel is in very good condition. It measures 2-3/16" diameter, 3-5/8" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-1/2" long by 9/16" wide. It has a 4:1 geared multiplier. The handle has two ivory colored plastic or celluloid knobs. It has a clicker slide button on the rear plate. The crank side is engraved with"YALE" inside a triangle. It is not marked with a model number, but I was able to match it to a catalog page that showed both the model 99 and 99C. The model 99C has two bars holding the foot which was different than the one piece foot on the 99. The C designation was for Chrome plating. Except for the foot it appears all the plating is a satin finish. The reel is in very good working ... morecondition. It weighs 8.5 ounces, with packaging it will ship at 13 ounces. ORIGINAL 1905 HARVARD& YALE BASEBALL GAME"SOUVENIR PROGRAMME AND BOOK OF RECORDS" This vintage program was issued for a game played between the two Ivy League schools on June 22nd. 1905, at Soldiers Field in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Rare volume is loaded with illustrations pertaining to Harvard, many of them baseball related, along with Harvard and Yale line-ups, team records and various ads. Although we cannot say with certainty this is the only surviving copy of this early program. Our extensive search yielded no other known copies either institutionally held or in private hands. When the teams met. Harvard's record stood at 16-5 while Yale was 25-3. you are buying a Yale forklift seen in pics. Mdl GLP030UAT073P. Propane(LP) with very good condition pneumatic tires. we used this around the yard for a bit and it worked well. this is a nice size machine to work in tight quarters but we really needed a bigger machine for outdoors. Which we now have. hence the sale. our forklift mechanic who services all our lifts went over it and said it is ready to work with no issues that he sees. no propane tank is included in this sale. local pick up only. we have 12 docks for loading and a concrete ramp from the facility to the outside for ground level loading also. inspection is available by appointment and we encourage potential buyers to come in. GD Used Yale Spur Gear 1/2 Ton Hoist, Chain Fall, Swivel Hook Top, USA Made
Here's a used vintage Yale or Yale-Towne chainfall or hoist we received recently with some garage or workshop tool items. This one is a 1/2 ton spur gear type. We hooked it up to operate the chain and and the hoist seems to be operating properly. The hook at the top allows the hoist or chainfall to swivel 360 degrees as one would expect. This is a handy garage. Farm or barn tool for occasional heavy lifting requirement. It could use a little cleanup and some grease in the grease fitting would probably be a good idea but seems to be in good mechanical condition overall. We did notice some wear to the inside surface of the chain guide or guard piece caused when someone stands off center to the hoise then pulls the chain so that it rubs on the guide. The guide is still in structurally sound condition in this area but did want to mention ... moreit and show this area in the pictures. This is a hefty hoist that will weigh about 75 lbs when packed for shipping. It will be over the USPS limit so we'll be using UPS ground for the shipping service. The zip code and city to use as starting location for those who wish to do their own estimate of UPS charges to their location would be 03301 and Concord, NH. Shipping costs will probably make this best suited for those located in the Northeast USA or New England area. We have no packing or additional shipping service fees. That's about it.
