YALE COLLEGE UNIVERSITY VINTAGE COFFEE POT MORTAR BOARD KNOP
From our large selection of college china comes this wonderful and rare Yale College coffee pot with lid which measures 9.5" tall with the lid. The knop on the lid is a mortarboard with a raised and painted gold tassel. Based on the fact that there is only a maker's mark which is so faint we can't read it at all. We can't be specific about its age. Based upon the very fine crazing which only shows up close, it is likely no newer than the 1950s, if not much earlier. The accents around the top, on the lid and spout and at the bottom are clear and undamaged. The yellow Ys at the bottom edge are uniform and clear, not wearing off. There is light embossed pattern at the bottom, the top edge and on the spout. As you can see in the photo, one side has a blue Yale banner, it appears to be hand painted and is over the glaze, it could ... morebe a transfer, hard to tell, and the Yale crest on the other side looks like a transfer also. It is a nice light brown color. All in all this is an outstanding piece of Yale College memorabilia. The interior is not stained, looking like no coffee was ever left in it if it was ever used to serve same. In our 17+ years of dealing in college wares, we've never seen this coffee pot or any other service pieces to match it. Please ask any questions. This unit is in excellent condition throughout. It is powered by a very strong Continental Four(4) Cylinder L-Head LPG Motor(an undistructable little engine) and a strong single speed. Forward and reverse, automatic transmission. The mast is a three(3) stage. Measuring 83" in the lowered position and the forks will lift to a maximum height of 192" The class II forks are 4" wide X 47" long and will spread to a width of 30" inside to inside of the forks. This forklift is really nice. The front tires ... moreare good at 80% with some minor chunks out of the sides and the rear tires are also good at 75% with minor chunks out of the sides. The width of this unit is 41" and the overall length is 82" plus the fork length. The overall height measures 83" from the floor to the top of the mast. It weighs approx. 7.400# This forklift came out of service about three months ago. The company it came from(a major trucking company) has their own maintenance department for their forklifts and they have as fine of a maintenance program as we have ever seen. This is a YALE glass door knob with doorplates. Hardware and a key, all in original packaging. It has never been used before. There are no scratches or nicks in the glass. Comes with a sliding door latch. Door plates are 7" tall by 2 1/4" wide and seem to be very close in color, but not a perfect match. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
