Pair of antique parlor door cast iron track wheels for sliding pocket doors
For your consideration. We offer this pair of cast iron track wheels for sliding pocket doors which were a conventional feature of the Victorian and early 20th century American home. Produced by the American Manufacturing Company with a patent date of Dec. 8, 1885. Pocket doors were a domestic architectural feature which slid into an adjacent wall compartment when there was no room for a hinged door. Measurements: wheel diameter- 3 3/4" attachment bracket- 9" in length; height of entire unit- 8" The attachment bracket has a 5" ridge along its 9" underside and 6 screw holes, 3 on either side of the ridge. Usually I strip out the aluminum off the doors my neighbor gives me from his job at Lowe's doing replacement doors. But this time I noticed the frames are vinyl clad steel and so only worth 3.00 instead of the 12 dollars scrap aluminum would bring. The doors appear to be mostly complete w/ external seals and rollers that operate smoothly on the concrete porch floor(on the one door that came w/ rollers- the other is fixed) The internal seal on left(slider) door appears to be intact. I.e. no condensation between the double panes. The right door seal has been compromised. The door handle/latching mechanism works smoothly. The faux window mullions are mounted between the panes of glass and therefore cannot be removed. Crafter or type of wood. Shelf is approximately 17" long. 5 1/2" high and 4" deep. Wooden heart doors slide from side to side to expose contents of the shelf. Shelf includes a sawtooth hanger. There is one gouge on the top edge on the back side which is approximately 3/4" Shelf is very old and could be freshened by using a furniture restoration or scratch remover. The case is black with white inside to show off items. I used it for N Scale Trains. I am guessing it is homemade which means it was made in the US. It measures about 13 by 36 inches. The shelves range from 1 1/4 to about 1 1/2 inches apart. The door slides open to 17 inches. The white strip on back is velcro I used. I hung it on the nail brackets like a picture and the velcro was to keep it on the wall hanging in the event of an eathquake which geologists say my area will have. I used a twenty inch section of velcro so I will send 20 inches of new with it. I am selling it because it does not match my others. I liked it and used it for N scale trains.
