Vintage Rosewood or Mahogany Cabinet? This cute vintage cabinet is 5 feet 4 1/2 inches tall. Unsure of the wood type. Could be mahogany or rosewood. Please view the photos carefully. Two pull handles on drawers are broken. Cabinet does not have any major damage and is very solid. The glass sliding doors are in excellent condition. Antique Oak Double Stack Bookcase Cabinet 4 sliding doors adjustable shelves
Nice oak bookcase. 4 oak frame sliding doors. 4 adjustable wood( oak? shelves. Built like the lawyer stacking style bookcase. Has a decorative top section then the top 2 door section and then the base 2 door section. So it is a 3 part bookcase making it transportable by most mid size cars. Maybe some smaller ones too. Original finish in good shape. Does have some chips and scratches that a little tlc would improve on but very usable as is. There is a crack in one glass. Will replace as part of the sale price. Up for auction is a pair of 2 antique Maritime passageway heavy brass/bronze ship lights with cobalt blue glass globes with sliding doors and a handle for hanging. There are doors that slide on the lamp to open and close the cobalt blue glass globe. The base is all heavy brass/bronze and has a threaded top with moveable handle. On the top of the lamp it has a threaded fitting marked. 9-S-5010-L Type XXII Size B. The threaded top of the light has 9-S-2108-L. There is a gasket with washer and light socket inside, so changing the bulb is very easy. The cobalt blue globe is very heavy, please check pictures and measures 4 ½” diameter x 5” long with rounded bottom. On the rim of the cobalt blue globe it has Type H 2034 L P.G. Co. There are no chips or cracks on the globe. Underneath on the top ring it has 2099-L-3 and on the bottom section ... moreis 2099-L-4. The heavy base contains the sliding door to open and close. The bottom panel also opens and closes. With handle up the lamp stands 11 ¼” tall and the base is 5 ½” diameter. Both lamps have the same numbers and are identical. Antique Candlestick Telephone Antique Wall Cabinet Sliding Doors Nice
Very rare wall cabinet which holds a candlestick telephone or a statue. I have seen one that is being used as a cnadlestick telephone cabinet. I believe this cabinet is made of pine. Sliding curved doors that still work. As you open one door the other also opens and both slide back into the cabinet exposing the candlestick telephone. The apparatus that causes this is still there and working. It is missing the two knobs that were on each door. Writing shelf which is right in front of the phone and is part of that same section. Right below the shelf and telephone is a drawer that opens up and will hold your telephone books or bible. The metal hinges that work the drawer are still there. Intact and in great condition. Check the pictures for drawer operation. It is clean but could use a nice refinishing. The wood section just below the shelf ... moreand between the shelf and the drawer needs to be tightened up and has a crack which can be seen in the picture. The cabinet was imbedded into the wall. The back part that goes against the wall, unseen, is not the original back and I'm not sure there ever was a back on the cabinet. When in the wall the only part that shows is the front as I believe that the cabinet would probably slide right into the opening in the wall and the back of the front would be flush with the interior wall This cabinet is large. 38 1/2" X 17 1/2" X 11" The back part that goes into the wall is 34 1/2 X 13 X 4. We do know that the 3/16" veneer on the interior side of each door is Quarter Sawn Oak. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Vintage Japanese Mizuya Kitchen Tansu Sliding Doors # 1 of 2 sets
This is one of two sets of sliding doors originally made for a Japanese kitchen tansu(mizuya) from the early 1900's. They are made of cypress and are jointed together at the corners. With a soft tap of a hammer they can be separated. Then a thin board or glasss could be inserted into the groove around the inside edges. We tried to show these edges in the photos# 6- 9. One of the inside edges is broken but it could be fixed with glue before or after the insert is installed.This broken section can be seen in photo# 5. Left side door look at the upright on the right side and the crack is visible. The bottom of the runner has an ebony inlay. This is for its beauty and the utilitarian purpose of making the wood stronger so the bottom runner doesn't wear down through sliding back and forth. The beauty and the quality of this item is that it is one piece construction. Does not break down into two pieces like many cabinets. It is anybody’s guess as to when it was built but I am going to date it in the 1900-1915 era. It was used in our local hardware store which was located on Main Street in our small town. The Drawers are Large(the entire depth of the cabinet) and have numbered plates on them. The sliding glass doors have old recessed rollers on the bottom and the center door glass is missing. A few of the shelves appear to be newer wood and they have all been painted to match the interior of the cabinet. Antique Solid Curved Glass Display Counter with rear sliding doors "1880's
Very old from information that I have gathered it is from the 1880's. In the day. This was a looker. Remarkable shape for it's age. Grandpa's country store is gone and this is for sale. Has been in storage for over 30 years. The top is a solid(one piece) glass that measures 98 1/4" long and 22" wide. The front piece of glass measures the same length as the top however, it is curved. Counter stands 40" tall. Inside is a shelf that measures 12" wide and is made up of 4 pieces on an adjustable shelving bracket. In the front is one piece of curved glass. In the back are four wooden sliding doors that are 2' wide and 19" tall with finger holes. One of these doors is missing a board about 19" in height. Under the sliding doors to the right are two drawers that measure 23 1/4" wide and about 3 5/8" ... moredeep. To the left of the two drawers is a opening that is 63" long, 16" deep and 7 1/2" in height. The glass shows wear scratches, but no breakage in the glass. On the bottom under the curved part to the back corner shows some slight damage but it is mostly to the bottom edging. As far as the wood is concerned I think that it is Mahogany, but I am not positive. It could be cherry. Items inside case do not sell. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Please view all photos.
