New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. If you would like to add any hardware. A pair of vintage 1940s kitchen cupboard door handles. With hinges and spring action latch mechanism, including the latch mounts for the cupboard frame. Handles and hinges are still attached to the original kitchen cupboard doors from a house constructed in 1946. The doors are 3/4 inches thick, in excellent condition, no warping or dents, a tribute to the quality of the wood. heavy, dense plywood with a curving edge, each door weighs 6 pounds) Painted with an off-white enamel, the paint has a few blemishes but is remarkably intact. The doors are designed to fit cabinet openings of 12" wide by 26" high, with a half-inch overlap, making each door a total of 13 x 27 inches. The door handles have that nice 1940s curve with a single crease down the center.
