Extremely rare and desirable First Empire NCO's private purchase Briquet to Napoleons Imperial Guard Grenadiers. Les Grognards. The style of hilt is specific and unique to the Old Guard. The most fearsome, famous, and well equipped soldiers of Napoleons army. The sword came from a very old collection and still has a brass museum tag attached to the scabbard. 100% authentic. Makers mark on the base of the hilt is TGB. No markings on spine. Blade. Gilt and bluing are in excellent condition. No pitting, very clean. Wire on the hilt is present, though a little bit loose. This could be adjusted easily, but will leave it to the new owner to decide what to do. Leather on the scabbard is complete with a few cracks and what appears to be 1 or 2 small period repairs. RARE 1900 US UNIFORM COAT NEW YORK GUARD SPANISH AMERICAN WAR 7th REGIMENT
Original New York National Guard uniform coat. 7th Regiment, circa 1900-1915. There is a fragment of a label in the collar which reads, CO B No 26. The number"59" is stenciled to the left of the label. No other manufacturer label(no label in the inside pocket, just the traces of where one was sewn) There are buttons everywhere that there are supposed to be buttons, but I have no idea how many of them are original to the uniform(the button at the bottom left is a South Carolina Guard button of the same era, for example, but all others are New York Guard with the proper design of the era) There is an internal pocket at the left breast and one in the left tail. Shows moderate to heavy wear overall and soiling with repairs of the era throughout. Heavy, period repairs to the lining of the tail(see photo) Fine, padded bullion devices ... moreat the collar, on the tail of the coat and on the sleeves. On the collar bullion devices, there is one seam separation on each side, and one at the edge on the left side(see photo) The cord on the breast which edges the buttons and button holes is worn around the button holes, lighter at the top and then extremely worn at the bottom, with the top thread completely worn away(see photo) Seam separation at the arm pits, one repaired long ago and the other not repaired. I counted pencil size moth holes as follows: 4 on the right sleeve, 4 on the left sleeve. Two moth holes larger than pencil points on the left sleeve, and one on the right shoulder. Several thin, horizontal marks across the neck at the back(see photo) Soiled everywhere you would expect when a uniform coat is worn- at the cuffs, neck, and shoulders. 1" vertical tear at the rear, waist level, right side. Elaborate, hand sewn ordnance devices of bullion thread and sequins on both tails. No shoulder boards or straps, but the mounting loops are there and intact. This flash guard can be used on a Brown Bess.Charleville, or French Fusil musket. The guard is installed on the lock by removing the frizzen screw and then put the screw threw the guard and screwed back in the frizzen. Depending on what lock you have, the guard has a ear that is on the back side that will rest on the lock so that it will not swivel. If this ear interferes with the lock the ear can be filed or ground off. We had these made to fit a brown bess, but sometimes they need some minor adjustments to fit. Up for sale is a Military Gas Mask that I believe is from the 1990/91 Iraqi gulf war. I dont know this for a fact because there is no solid markings on it except there is some palm trees embossed in the rubber on one side. This came from an estate of an Air Force Master Sargeant that retired in 1995 and was stationed over there during that time. This could be from the Iraqi Republican Guard but that is only a guess.
