As we all know. Model train layouts can be dangerous places for the scale people that inhabit them. Derailments, giant spiders, cats and kids, really severe earthquakes, even well a meaning builder with clumsy fingers can be a threat to public safety. Couple that with businesses and a transportation system that measures the distance between lost time accidents with a stopwatch and suddenly the need for good public safety equipment becomes clear. This is a resin model of the famous B Model Mack Fire Engine. With their big chrome grills. And rounded fenders, my personal opinion is that this one the most beautiful commercial trucks ever made. Examples of this truck exist to this day having fought fires for almost 40 years, there are some that still live in back of fire stations making parade appearances. This truck would be at home on any layout ... morefrom the early 1950's to the present day. With fire scenes popular on many layouts. This is the chance to get some red blooded American fire trucks, instead of using European fire trucks on an obvious American layout. This is a B 125 Mack 4 door cab paired with a water tanker. This is set to be used as an airport crash fire rescue unit or chemical pumper. If you have an airport. Chemical plant, refinery, fuel tanks or tank cars running on your layout, you need this truck. The cab has its pump mounted between the front and back seats. There is a monitor mounted above the pump that could be used for foam or water. The trailer has a reel attached to the end as well as a fire ladder and hard suction tubes. VINTAGE BRASS ART WIRE MESH 3 PANEL FOLDING FIRE PLACE FIREPLACE SCREEN DOOR
The height of this very old screen at maximum at the arch is 31 1/2 inches. The front part/section- the large one- is approximately 2 feet across. And the side panels is approximately 12 inches. This gives you a maximum total flat panel of 4 feet. The screen is in a very good vintage condition. All the wires appear to be intact. One of the brass finials at the top is missing and has been replaced with a nut. The black residue you see in the center section is simply charcoal. It brushes off quite easily. We are not going to hose the screen down as we want to maintain it in the driest possible condition for shipping. The old brass has a very nice patina to it. There are a few flecks of white paint on the brass crown/upper frame; apparently someone was not being very careful when they painted a fireplace or a ceilling nearby. This is a Mack CF 4 door cab tractor pulling a more modern tiller ladder trailer. The tractor is based on the style used by the Fire Department of New York. The trailer has plenty of cabinets for storage and an enclosed steering position for the tillerman. This weeks marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season so the boy have been putting in a lot of overtime getting some of these models ready. However once these are sold off it's hard to tell when or if these will be available again. Antique iron mechanical boxing bell. The bell is solid cast iron heavy.The unusual brass mechanism operates perfect.when you pull the chain by the wooden knob the ring sound is awesome and goes on forever! Im not sure what this bell was used for it looks as though it may have been mounted on a large door and the pull chain was on the outside or mounted in some sought of box maybe even on a ship?Which ever it was this is a great early iron bell in excellent condition.
