Vintage 1926 Glynn Johnson Co Brass Dead Stop Arm Door Closer Made Laporte Ind
A very rare example of a brass commercial door dead stop opener from 1926 made by the Glynn Johnson Co. Item is marked"Glynn Johnson Co Laporte. Ind" and"Paid 8/10/26. Item comes with two arms, as shown in photos. One arm has a different orientation than the other to simplify mounting issues. Please not that there does appear to be a brazing repair on the hinge mount section of the un-mounted arm. It appears to be a good structural repair. No damage is noted on the assembled section other than the paint and patina from nearly one hundred years of use. I have never seen another one like this offered for sale. As they were usually disposed of with the old door. This appears to be solid brass and would clean up and polish nicely, should one wish to do so. Selling an LCN 4040 Super-Smoothee Door Closer. Looks to be in very good condition but unsure whether it has been used or not. Looks very clean and does not have any leaks. Mounting arm has good damping when moved by hand. Appears as though arm can be mounted for either RH or LH use. Please review the pictures for additional information. No additional parts included.
