But it was not widely used making this even more rare) Stove boards were placed under wood stoves/ pot belly stoves, with the metal side up to protect floors from ash and hot embers that could cause fires. Now these stove boards are admired for their rarity and beauty. They are used as decorative wall hangings and display items. This Wabash Aluminum Stove Board is the only one I have been able to find. You find Wabash Stove Boards stamped with Walnut. Crystalized, Oriental, and Art Inlay. However, I have not been able to find another ... moreAluminum one. The wood side is in very good condition and has been protected with natural wood protector to preserve the wood. This was removed from a home in Central Wisconsin built in the 1850's. this is a beautiful very rare antique pressed aluminum embossed owl door stop. it is made from a heavy aluminum and hand painted, it is in the shape of an owl with an arched top. it is in good shape and measures 4 7/8 x 3 1/8 inches i suppose it could be used as a book end as well. Up for auction is a nice Vintage Lot of 3 Door Knob Backplates- 2 Aluminum and 1 Brass Plated. These backplates have well aged black patina. Some light scratches, some brass plating worn off, one has black paint and the two aluminum ones have some oxidation on both front and back, all with some wear. The 2 aluminum backplates measure 6 9/16" long x 1 3/4" wide and the brass plated one measures 6" long x 2 1/4" wide. Great decorative/collector items or to match up with some antique door. Vintage 1940s Aluminum Dr. Pepper Door Pull Handle
A store door handle pull from the 1940s. This was found in the basement of a house we purchased in the 1990s. It measures approximately 10 inches long by 3 1/2 inches across. The bottle pull averages a height of 1 3/4 inches from a flat surface. The top of the pull reads"Drink Dr. Pepper Good For Life" On the actual pull there is imprinted the Dr. Pepper Clock that has clock hands pointing to the"10" the"2" and the"4" On the back, on the bottle part, the words"MICRO-FLEX CO WICHITA KANS. PAT. PENDING" There are 3 mounting holes on the top and two on the bottom. On the top of the"Bottle" you can clearly see the indentions of a"cap" At the bottom of the bottle is"6 1/2 OZS. This is a really neat vintage item. In the 1940s our town had many corner markets where you could ... morepurchase everything you needed- and I have wonderful memories from the 1950s of drinking cold Dr. Pepper from a bottle and reading comic books on my grandmother's front porch. Those memories had me hanging on to this but it is time for someone to enjoy it.maybe even putting it to use!
