HP 437B RF Power Meter w/ Lots of Extras! - 8481a (18GHz) Sensor & 11730a Cable
Up for auction is a HP RF power meter set w/ extras. Comes with HP 437b meter. 11730a cable, and 8481a sensor, ~0.5m RG214/u cable w/ N-connectors, N male-to-male connector, and N-to-SMA cable. Unit passes self test. But throws a cal error when calibrating the sensor(see pictures) Sensor could be damaged(RF is really not my domain- and I wouldn't know how to test it otherwise) On Feb-06-14 at 17:31:59 PST. Seller added the following information: I should note that the sensor does respond to varying inputs. Unpluging/plugging it back in yields the change shown in the 5th picture. Its just that(to me) the level doesn't seem right.

HP-431C RF Power Meter/ 478A sensor This instrument appears to work and is in reasonable condition for its age. This listing includes the HP-478A power sensor and a very long sensor cable. No power cord is included as I had to borrow the appropriate cord to test this item-a photo shows the connector style. The original operating and service manual is included. Photographs show the actual item displaying the 1mW(0dBm) internal reference power source from an HP-435B. And the level is within 0.3dB(the HP-435B is not included with this sale but it is available separately under eBay item 271391024897) The null adjust and zero/ vernier controls are extremely sensitive and I found it necessary to adjust each control alternately for a lower and lower null reading each time until the needle settles into the'null zone' on the null range. Similarly ... morethe zero indication on the-20dBm range drifts requiring readjustment of the zero control periodically. Perhaps this is normal, but I have no prior experience with this instrument. There is paint discoloration/ sticker residue around the top edge of the front panel and the meter scale also shows some discoloration.
