Bird 4430 Directional RF Wattmeter, -43dB Fixed Sample Port, Bird 43 -N-N (F)
This hard to find Bird ThruLine Model 4430 RF Directional milli-Wattmeter uses standard Bird 43 elements. The Model 4430 has a fixed sampler port on the right side of the housing near the top edge. The port has a fixed sample attenuation of-43dB from the signal being measured by the wattmeter. The sample is accessed by the BNC connector on the side which supplies the greatly reduced sample signal for use by an oscilloscope. Spectrum analyzer, frequency counter, etc. The 4430 has been discontinued and replaced by the 4431 which is basically the same unit except that the 4431 has a non calibrated adjustable sample level control on the front of the wattmeter. This surplus"terminating" wattmeter was given to me. Many years ago. I have others, so am selling this one. It is rated 15 and 60 watts. This meter has been well used. The case shows quite a bit of wear. The input N connector works. But some of the spring fingers are slightly bent. The same goes for the diode sockets. The meter is completely functional, but the movement is sticky. You can either rebuild this unit, or use it for parts. Two spare 1N21C diodes are included. Both diodes are still sealed in their original packaging. I'm relisting this item and dropping the price. Even if used as a simple dummy load. This would be a good deal.
