This is a combination GERRARD tensioner and crimper. Wheel type tensioner. Model: 2308. Size: 1/2" Handles strap 1/2" wide. I tryed it around a piece of plywood. Tightened it easy and to the point of indenting the wood. The grippers are sharp and in good condition. There is only one crimp on clip which I will ship with unit so you have an original. I tested the crimper with a Signode clip which I had to grind shorter to fit the holder slot. It takes stacks of clips which are automatically pushed on the band/strap for crimping. Up for bid is a brass strapping or banding tool. I know nothing about this tool. It belonged to my grandfather and was in his work shop forever. It seems to work when you lift the handle and bring it down. It clicks and the wheel turns. The tool is mostly brass(tested with magnet) except for the screws, wheel and lever. I am unsure if it is made for steel or plastic, but I would assume based on its age, it is for steel. That is what I had used it for. I also looked in the MSC book to get some information. There item#01700970 looks similar, the on line price is $642.75 for there made in USA item. I would say condition is good to almost very good. But are in good working condition. There is a chip on the tensioner knob. Please see pics. The crimper is for 1/2" bands(see pics) And is 19.25" long. Longer than the other one I have listed. I wish I could tell you if they were exclusively for polyester bands. Or if they worked on metal bands too, but I don't know. Perhaps someone who does know could tell me. Tension and welding time adjustments are able to be easily changed Has a Bosch 14 volt Battery Charger and it looks like a fairly new aftermarket battery. I am a mechanic by trade but did not know this machine. Fifteen minutes with it now and I am about a Pro. I understand this is an older machine but being a mechanic the older machines are usually simpler and more reliable than the newer ones! You pull up on the long finger grip lever to feed the strapping into the machine. You adjust the weld time with the yellow timer button up or down 1 thru 7 You adjust the tension with the green go arrow up or down.1 thru 7 The red button is the battery button.time ... moreleft etc.I presume) The red thumb button activates the strapping tensioner. Then the black thumb lever activates the welder and cutter. I welded a couple straps and the welder welds fine. You can see in the pictures that the cutter works also. all of the pictures are of this machine.I have never held another one! The tensioner works fine too I do not know what the strapping width is set at so that will have to be figured out by the new owner. Since I do not know how to cycle this machine through all of it's functions and knowing that it probably is fine Lets call it in as is condition. I am trying to be honest here and I have told you enough for you to decide if you want this handy little machine. ASK any questions during the auction and I will get right back with you.
