I didn't know what this was at first, but looked it up and found out it was a battery powered bander for poly ... morebands. The button on the top pushes in fine. The lever that you pull back brings down the back part of the bander to clamp on the bands. The finger trigger when pulled lifts the front part of the bander, maybe to get the bands in easier.
