This is a combination GERRARD tensioner and crimper. Wheel type tensioner. Model: 2308. Size: 1/2" Handles strap 1/2" wide. I tryed it around a piece of plywood. Tightened it easy and to the point of indenting the wood. The grippers are sharp and in good condition. There is only one crimp on clip which I will ship with unit so you have an original. I tested the crimper with a Signode clip which I had to grind shorter to fit the holder slot. It takes stacks of clips which are automatically pushed on the band/strap for crimping. Does a double crimp. Not sure if it can be seen in picture. I am unsure if it is made for steel or plastic, but I would assume based on its age, it is for steel. That is what I had used it for. I have since switched to a plastic banding kit, and it worked fine on that too. I don't know what the difference is between them. Anyway, shipping will be at actual cost. Shipping weight is 5 pounds. This is a ACME Strapping tensioner. Windlass type. Heavey duty piece. Can handle strap widths from 3/8" to 1 1/4" I tryed it with some 1/2" strapping I have. Tightned it around the 1/2" plywood. Could have easily crushed the plywood. Overall length: 19 1/2" I havn't had a chance to get a price from Acme. It looks like the current model would be DTW 208. I also looked in the MSC book to get some information. There item#01700970 looks similar, the on line price is $642.75 for there made in USA item. I would say condition is good to almost very good.
