IFR 1200S Service Monitor With Options 1, 4, 10, 12*
Selling for a friend. He wrote the following description. Here is a nice IFR 1200S with options 1. 4& 10, 12* Although this unit does not have the tracking amplifier. I enabled option 12 tracking feature. The tracking amplifier only adds about 6db. And in most cases is not needed. You can see in the photo of the tracking generator opperating. It is sweeping a duplexer. This is one of the best and easiest to use service monitors that IFR ever made. It is a very rugged unit. Made for field work, or just a daily bench unit. The CRT display is showing WWV at 15Mhz Being received on an outside antenna. Notice that the frequency resolution switch is set to 30Hz. And the meter is showing 0 error. As you well know. There are a lot of 1200S service monitors on ebay, but most of them state tested to power up only. These units will need alignment ... moreto work properly! So expect to invest at a minimum of $400+ to get in working properly after all these units are 15 to 20 years old. Be aware that one of the problems that I find with"used tested to power up only" Is that someone has transmitted into the antenna in jack and blown out the front end mixer. That repair will cost a minimum of $300 to repair alone! With out exception. Every 1200S that I receive needs alignment. I am not saying that every 1200S on ebay is bad. But you will save in the long run by buying a unit that has had it functions tested and alignment has done to insure that it is working properly. A lot of auctions state"Came out of a working environment" That means nothing! If you see a unit on ebay that the scope tube doesn't show a trace. Don't buy it unless you need parts! Perhaps the only problem is the scope power supply is bad. But if it has a bad tube you are out of luck as they are not manufactured anymore and none are available from IFR. The units I sell have been tested. Any issues found are repaired and then they are left powered up for 5 hrs to make sure that there are no long term powered on issues. Then I do the alignm

HP 8591a 1.8GHz Spectrum Analyzer, Partially Working
Good spectrum analyzer. The 30khz filter looks to be out of alignment. The frequency calibration routine stops there and fails. I think the spec is 2.2dB, as you can see all the filters are pretty close, but far enough to fail. Frequency response and phase noise measurements look good. The 30khz filter looks somewhat crooked(1MHz and 2MHz filters are always crooked) Usable as-is, or you can align it and have a perfect analyzer. Guaranteed to be in the condition listed. And priced accordingly. I can probably answer some questions about aligning it, although I can't take a return if you open it. Please email me with any questions. Thanks!

Works fine on 115 VAC. the reference levels and frequency readout are accurate. All functions work properly. the analyzer sweeps a full trace. My camera just would not sink up to it. The 10 MHz reference signal was set with a Trak Systems 8821 GPS Clock. Frequency and level calibration was checked against a calibrated R&S SMT-02 and found to be well within specification. There is no formal calibration sticker This analyzer was intermittently used in the field rather than left"cooking" on a test bench. It is therefore clean inside and has low hours but has some external nicks and dings. Not bad though. See the pictures This analyzer has very deep menu levels. I've been pretty far into it and everything I have tried to use works as intended but I don't know for sure that every little function is perfect as I am used to regularly using another make ... moreand model. It is not grossly out of calibration and could be used as is. At 900MHz at 0.0dBm on a calibrated R&S SMT-02 the analyzer marker reads about 2 KHz low and 1.2 dB lower than expected. This analyzer was carried by a radio technician and has more dings and bumps than average. Note the ding in the plastic below the knob area. The unit is clean inside and appears to have moderate hours. See the pictures This analyzer has very deep menu levels.
