This spectrum analyzer is in perfect working order. Someone took very good care of it and it's cosmetic condition is excellent. It passes all normalization routines and has a nice crisp clear display with no apparent burn marks. The tracking generator is working perfectly as well and in equally nice cosmetic shape. The 2712 has two small cracks in the overlay skin near the input connector. Very minor. Two manuals are also provided one for each unit. If you would like more pictures please feel free to ask. This unit is a midyear model and its got some real high demand options! option 001 allows it to be used as a 75 ohm analyzer or 50 ohm analyzer simply by switching a setting inside the soft menu which changes the setting in the 3rd converter. also you can change the amplitude unit to dbm like a standard 50 ohm analyzer. I fed my signal generator thru this at 50 ohm with the 50 ohm setting and my amplitude readings were perfect just as if it was a standard 50 ohm only analyzer. and with 1.8 ghz you really dont need to have an N connector. bnc works just fine up to 1.8 ghz without any loss. also has the highest demand option next to tracking generator which is the narrow bandwidth option which the E series really needs to make it perform more like a higher end 6 series. it also has the much needed option high frequency stable standard 10 mhz. the ones that they usually come with are junk so the precision option is a must. and opt 41 is

Tektronix 2712 9 kHz- 1.8 GHz Spectrum Analyzer. Yet another unit#3 unit has feet and a handle the handle is the 2710 style it has the Gpib port and tracking generator. All normalizations were recently run and passed the crt is clear and bright(sorry if the camera doesn't do justice) these normalizations are internal tests which were recently run and is in very good shape. I apologize for some of the pics from my camera this unit took me quite an effort and parts to repair but I felt the unit was worth it. I am sure many of the buyers of units that don't show the unit passing all the normalizations tests know just how dissapointing equipment like that is when they paid over a 1000$ for the unit! Tektronix changed something with the 2710 models over previous models it now by doing such tests provides a very accurate assessment of the ... moreunit automatically by doing a minor recalibrating of itself so you don't have to trained in how to test these units to know the condition. If you ever want to see what condition your 27xx is in let it warm up properly then go to the utility menu(by pressing Util button) and select normalizations then select all normalizations if your unit passes all normalizations then it is in pretty good shape but to find any sections that fail this type of test you select the service normalization section of the menu and it will display for each section what failed or passed. I have used this service monitor to repair my HAM rigs. It has a little scratches here and there. And marks on screen when power-off. However. When lights up, it is good to read without problem. Cosmetically I give a 7.5 out 10. It works fine as it should. And I have loved its functions. Therefore. I recently bought a newer one with 0.4~1000Mhz option. It would be a good unit for starters who want to have"the service monitor" expiriences. As you could find all details of this unit in internet. It is a very heavy one, 69 lbs. If you ever want to see what condition your 2710 is in let it warm up properly then go to the utility menu(by pressing Util button) and select normalizations(selection button 3) then select all normalizations(selection button 0) if your unit passes all normalizations then it is in pretty good shape but to find any sections that fail this type of test you select the service normalization section of the menu and it will display for each section what failed or passed. Here is a HP-141T spectrum analyzer and tracking generator(HP8443A) Also included is a Tektronics 575 Curve tracer(as-is)And 2- HP8553B RF plug-ins. 2- HP8552B IF plug-ins, 1- HP8554L plug-in and a HP5215L Counter unit. These units work as the picture shows. The 575 works but needs a shaft coupler for one of the controls. All are in nice shape. I am cleaning out the lab and have bought a new spectrum analyzer.

Tektronix 2710 Spectrum analyzer with tracking generator, 10khz to 1.8ghz
This Unit was purchased new. By my wife, somewhere around 1990. It was a Christmas Present, so it was extra special, and has had very good care. I am in the Two Way Radio business, and I wanted something that could look at the bare spectrum and also tune cavities and duplexers. This was perfect for me. I used it for a few years and then bought some other more elaborate equipment, at which time this unit went on the shelf. I can tell you that it probably does not have more than 10 hours of service on it in the past 20 years. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, with the original user manual. The screen is bright, all the controls work, and it seems to be in excellent conditon, overall(look at the pictures) As with any piece of electronic equipment that is old. There are no warranties, other than it is. Certainly working now. And I will double ... morebox the unit for shipment. But, it is old and I would not want to misrepresent its status.
