If you see one on ebay for less make sure they tell you the year model. it makes all the difference. the later model has the most recent firmware and motherboards so you dont deal with any glitches. Plus the cpu is twice as fast as the first few year models. First I realigned the loda amplitude and dual mixer alignment on the a14 board. Then realigned the yig/yto and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum, then performed the ytf realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration and realignment according to the service manual. this unit performs like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, and frequency accuracy. my cal is much better than any cal lab's calibration because I run all the manual adjustments. they only run it thru a software program and realign the freq response(fla

Pound for pound and dollar for dollar the R3XXX series analyzers are among the best in the world- and they don't run Windows so they boot quickly, are very stable, and are easy to program. This item is a beauty, mint 360, and works flawlessly. So buy with confidence from the actual engineers who use it. It was purchased for measuring EMI associated with instrument enclosures we had designed where the threat frequencies of interest went to 3 GHz. After that project it was mostly turned on briefly to check for local noise from a distributed antenna system near ... moreour antenna chamber. The R3132 has EMI filters and the ability to store antenna correction tables. And a preamplifier, so was ideal for our application where low level signal had to be resolved. Before buying the instrument we looked at demos from Agilent and R&S and felt that the R3132 had the most bang for the buck. It has always impressed us as a tough piece of gear. Its total on-time is very low, and it's only seen inside lab use. In the laundry list of features that follows, QP detection, preamp, power modes and frequency counter are all very useful. We put the manual, GPIB commands, and a Rohde Schwarz Excel app(V3.01-2006) that was designed for the R3132, on a 4 GB USB pen drive that ships separately.
