Up for sale is a Vintage HP 300A Harmonic Wave Analyzer in museum quality condition. If you're reading this description. You are most likely aware of this items rarity and value. Condition: This 300A is extremely clean and almost 100% complete. The only thing that I can find missing is the bottom front trim piece of oak. There are a few scratches on the wood and a small amount of staining at the bottom of one side(pictured) There are a few scratches here and there on the metal face plate(pictured) But that's about as bad as the condition gets. Again, this piece is extremely clean! We tested all of the ORIGINAL TUBES and all but one tested fine. Which was replaced. The unit powers on and all of the tubes light up. We tried to test it but were unsure of how to do it 100% We followed protocol to calibrate it but didn't get very far. The bottom AC Volts gauge moves when certain knobs are turned. But the top Millivolts gauge barely moves at all. Barely. Therefore. I cannot be certain of the working condition of this item and I am selling it AS IS. However. I find it hard to believe, due to the condition of this item, that fully restored order would be difficult to achieve. Please make sure you know what you are bidding on before you bid! I really don't know much i about this unit. I've been researching this item for a little over a year ever sense I found it in a attic. What i do know about it is that it has 7 of the old tubes and all 7 tubes light up but not all at once when you put it on a different frequency the other tubes light up. It was very well kept and clean It is made of steel and when I plug it in. It turns on. I recently picked up several pieces of old ham radio type equipment. I am not a ham operator and am not familiar with how to operate this type of equipment. You are look at Heathkit matching test equipment set of 5 pieces. As you can see from the photos, they are in very good shape. This sale is for just the 5 pieces and not the other equipment that I used to demonstrate that they are working. The 5 pieces are as follows. IG-5282 audio sine wave/square wave signal generator. Look at the scope pictures, both the sine wave and square wave functions work. IPA-5280, the power supply that powers all the test equipment, works great. IG-5280 RF signal generator, please look at the photos again, the output works great. It can also be modulated with the internal AF 1 kilo hertz generator that is built in and also has a audio output to drive something else. The IM-5284 Multimeter measures AC OR DC VOLTAGE, resistance and DC milliamps. The Power supply has 4 outputs. One for each piece of test equipment ... moreand will power them all at the same time. The outputs are plus and minus 9 VDC. Each of the pieces of test equipment also has connectors and holders inside for two 9 VDC batteries. There is a switch on the rear of each piece to switch from Battery operation or AC power supply operation so all of this test equipment can be used remotely without AC power. Each piece also has a compartment on top to store things in, cables, connectors, etc. All the equipment works. But need to be calibrated. I have included the instructions on how to calibrate and adjust all the equipment, there is a picture of the instructions I am supply them with. All the equipment works as you can see from the pictures. The AF AND RF GENERATORS outputs are on the oscilloscope. The MULTIMETER is connected to a 9 volt battery. Antique Telegraph Equipment - Line Test Box? Com / Plug Terminals - Unusual
This is an unusual item- it was found with other antique telegraph equipment used in a railroad depot. I've done some research and I really can't identify this item so if anyone knows what this is- any help with ID is welcome. So. I will list this the best I can. It"appears" to be some kind of testing box for telegraph lines- at least that's what I believe. There are two terminals on the front- one is labeled"plug" and one is"com" There are also three terminals on the top with some wire wrapped around one. The paper label on the front(perhaps could have helped in identifying this) is partially missing but it was made in Detroit. The box is a Dovetailed oak box, measuring 6 inches tall by 3.5 inches front to back by 2 3/4 inches across. It has substantial weight to it(about 2.5 pounds) and there are ... morescrews in the back. I believe there was some kind of battery inside at one time- I opened the box and the inside is now filled with some black solidified substance. Or maybe that's what has always been there for conduction? I don't know. There is some staining- scratches to the box consistent with age. It is definitely a statement piece, and a curiosity.
