I also have 4 sr760 units as well and am working on having a second functional sr770 soon. passes all startup tests every time. and tested perfect when I ran my srs function generator into it which is also for sale(ds340) the generator in pics was fed into it at exactly 1 volt pp and it reads dead on for amplitude and frequency. the other test pics show the source out fed into the input and set to 500 mv at various frequencies and waveform options that the source out has. the source out is completely programmable. its basically a complex waveform function generator built inside!The internal source out is also reading dead on from 30 hz to 99 khz, there is no amplitude fluctuation or frequency ... moredeviation from the source or the spec analyzer it self! flatness is dead on. its already in perfect precise calibration and guaranteed to pass it if your company demanded a recal after purchasing like some companies do. The performance is all verified however and does not need to be verified again. I am a reliable spec an source. just read my feedback. there is no instability or spikes of noise floor either. no skirting or anything like that. no spurious flurries either. HP Spectrum Analyzer RF SECTION 8555A for 141T mainframe analyzer. This one is a spare I have had on the shelf for 20 years for my 141T. And only have used it a few times. It was with the phone company before that, so probably well maintained. Please note: Auction is for the RF section and its manual only. Whole analyzer is shown to illustrate operation. 01 to 18 GHz RF head for HP 141T spectrum Analyzer. works to 42 GHz with external mixer) Condition: Tested. But not fully calibrated. I did the performance test on Page 4-1 of the operating and service manual(included in auction) One of the pictures shows the signal. The level is about 5dB low, and I did not bother to adjust the RF level control, because you will need to calibrate to your IF section. But it appears that frequency and amplitude are within adjustment limits. Another picture ... moreshows reception of a local digital TV station. The signal is about 50 dB above the noise floor. I have also observed the FM band. But didn't record it. SW signals are also evident with a short wire antenna. The attenuator has a problem. It seems to be fine in the 0 and 10 dB attenuation positions. But the 20 and 30 dB positions show excess attenuation. 40 and 50dB seem OK. Either the switch had dirty contacts or perhaps the attenuator elements are damaged. In my experience, this is only a minor inconvenience. At 500 Mhz, the bad attenuator settings are better, perhaps indicating capacity coupling across a bad contact. The main type N input jack has one of four of the little contacts broken. It seems to make contact fine using the other three. But you may want to be a bit careful not to damage it further. I keep an adaptor, BNC or other type connected permanently. I have not checked all the bands since I have no signal sources at microwave frequencies. The band switch seems to work properly. I have not checked every BW and Swept range. But switching through them didn't notice any problem. The 1/2 inch thick operating and service manual contains full details if you need to
