HP 8922M GSM Test Set. Options: With Spectrum Analyzer option. Without High Stability Timebase and other options. It's in full working condition and reasonable calibration. Firmware version C.01.10. This machine is configured to be used as an 8922P. Using an external converter. To accomodate this configuration, the attenuator that is normally in the RF IN/OUT path is bypassed. Without the 83220 converter connected, the machine displays a warning to the operator that the converter is not connected and the 8922 by itself cannot handle the input power expected from a cellular telephone under test. Notwithstanding, the 8922M understands that the 83220 converter is not in the signal path and the levels are accurate. This machine fully passes the power on self test. And all of the internal test programs that run on the internal IBASIC controller, ... moreexcept for the programs which test the PCS bands(they depend on the 83220 converter. By connecting an antenna to the 8922M and manually setting the reverse power targets. A GSM base station was successfully emulated. I have several Siemens A55 handsets that I brought from Europe, and they signed on to the 8922M base station. The 8922M assigned TMSI to each handset, originated and received calls, and passed audio to and from the handsets. This machine is probably more useful as a spectrum analyzer and RF CW generator. The frequency range is 10MHz to 1GHz. The spectrum analyzer has a max. span of 10 MHz. RBW is chosen for you depending on the span, and sensitivity is about-80 to-90 dBm. There is also an FM demodulator, AM modulator, and AF sinewave generator with accurate levels from millivolts to 8 V rms. It does have a deviation meter that can be driven by the FM demodulator. The LED display is leaning slightly to the right. Should be an easy fix. It is not tested beyond starting it up and letting t run for a few hours. There may be other very very small creases/folds to the magazine but I was not able to capture it on my camera. To me you wouldn't even be able to see the damage unless you really inspected it with a critical eye. All damage done(unless otherwise noted) is done only to the front& back cover or along the spine on the front& back covers. All pages are clean with no creases. Folds, tears, stains etc. I also have many other Xena magazines so you can get lots here. I can ship only one magazine via First Class Mail in the United States.
