It also has a 1mhz crystal calibrator and a 100khz derived from it to improve dial accuracy from +/ 1.5% to +/ 1% The 400hz audio tone can be obtained from an external jack or used to modulate the RF signal up to 50% The six step attenuators and oscillators are fully copper shielded to reduce spurious radiation and allow low level RF output signals to be generated.
