Amplitude and frequency calibration on RF section are nominal. This analyzer is clean. But somewhat shopworn, has things like sticker residue from old property and calibration tags, and the normal scuffs and scrapes you would expect from an instrument of this age. HP Agilent 8591E Spectrum Analyzer/ with TRACKING GENERATOR opt 4,41,101,102,10
I have two of these units. one is an 8591e stock and has opt 41 the parallel and gpib as well as keyboard interface option and 004 the super stable timebase and of course the tg. Crt is good. the other one is in the same condition but a convert from 8591c to 8591e meaning the 75 ohm connectors were changed w 50 ohm connectors and the power on units were changed back to dbm. so now it functions as an 8591e. That one has opts 4, 41, 101 fast adc, 102 am fm demod/ video sync, and of course the tg and an excellent crt, for the same price the choice is yours. I am a bit flexible with option installations so let me know what you need exactly. since I repair and modify these for a living. I can make sure this one either has or doesnt have the tg when purchased. 800$ less if you dont need the tg. Then realigned the yig/yto and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum, then performed the ytf realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration and realignment according to the service manual. this unit performs like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, and frequency accuracy. my cal is much better than any cal lab's calibration because I run all the manual adjustments. they only run it thru a software program and realign the freq response(flatness) at most(if that) other companies like tmi just look at it and certify it automatically without even testing it thoroughly. Overall the unit has no issues and comes with a right of return guarantee. For exchange for buy it now customers only. The process that I perform on my units would cost you at least 1500$ at any other dealer. Because I do all the usual calibrations plus all the adjustments. This is a lot of 3 HP 8555A Spectrum Analyzer RF Sections. All three are in clean condition and complete with no known missing parts. But each has a different problem. The hope is that one or more can be put to working condition: One unit actually functions. But amplitude response is down by 10-20 dB. This unit comes with the three 50 ohm BNC terminations. One unit produces a response but will not tune in frequency. One unit will tune the V notch in the full span mode. But does not show any response to input signals. The band switch and tuning mechanisms on all three are in good condition. Not shown but I'll throw it in the box. Is the YIG 1st Local Oscillator assembly. It is believed to work, but is sold as-is.
