Condition: This 300A is extremely clean and almost 100% complete. The only thing that I can find missing is the bottom front trim piece of oak. There are a few scratches on the wood and a small amount of staining at the bottom of one side(pictured) There are a few scratches here and there on the metal face plate(pictured) But that's about as bad as the condition gets. Again, this piece is extremely clean! We tested all of the ORIGINAL TUBES and all but one tested fine. Which was replaced. The unit powers on and all of the tubes light up. We tried to test it but were unsure of how to do it 100% We followed protocol to calibrate it but didn't get very far. The bottom AC Volts gauge moves when certain knobs are turned. But the top Millivolts gauge barely moves at all. Barely. Therefore. I cannot be certain of the working condition of this item and I am selling it AS IS. However. The HP 8413A Phase Gain Indicator is a plug-in module measuring unit for the HP8410A Network Analyzers and it displays amplitude and phase of the cw signals applied to the network analyzers. This unit works as can be shown from the pictures provided. I tested the HP 8413A in my HP 8410A mainframe. I used a HP8740A test box to use the adjustable delays for calibrating phase and the magnitude of both test and reference ports into the HP8411A frequency converter ... moreat 1 GHz. This is nice because then you can do simple tests without an expensive separate RF generator. In the photo you can see I have set it to generate an RF carrier at the input to a directional coupler(not included) and I am measuring the spectrum at the other port at the same time. The other equipment in the pictures provided is used only to show the performance of the HP 8414A and is not part of the sale. The HP 8414A Polar Display is a plug-in module display unit for the HP8410A and HP8407A Network Analyzers and it displays polar form of the signals applied to the network analyzers. Full Operation and Service Manual can be downloaded for free from the Ko4bb Manuals website. This unit works as can be shown from the pictures provided. Note the you have to connect the"Test Chan Out" in the back side of the HP8410A to the"Test IN" of the backside of the HP8414A with a 50 ohm coax cable to get the display to work. This unit works. I ... moretested the HP 8414A in my HP 8410A mainframe. I used a HP8740A test box to use the adjustable delays for calibrating phase and 21 dB of attenuation to adjust the magnitude of both test and reference ports into the HP8411A frequency converter over the 900 to 1100 Mhz range. I used a 20 dB coupler for testing short. Open, 6 dB pad and a 50 ohm termination at the Test port of the coupler. See the set-up on Pictures 4 and 5. Picture 6 shows an Open termination. Picture 7 shows a Short termination. Sorry that my camera shows blurry pictures of the trace. The trace is set at the lowest intensity setting. It looks better than it shows in the picture but you may want to reduce the intensity setting inside the unit. Pictures 8 and 9 shows measurement of a 6 dB SMA pad terminated with a short and an open. Picture 10 shows the Test port loaded with a good 50 ohm termination. Picture 11 shows beam at center when pressing the button on top of the unit(Beam CTR) Unit measures approx 18 X 7.25 X 6 inches and weights 12 pounds.
