For sale is an Agilent/HP 54721A Amplifier for the 54710A/54720A/54710D/54720D Oscilloscope mainframes. These models were hopelessly overengineered and therefore may never die. Nevertheless. I am selling this as used and starting off the bidding low with no reserve. This plugin has a DC to 1 GHz analog bandwidth with a 4 gigasample per second(GSPS) sample rate. Because it is a double-wide plugin. It has access to two ADC's and double the memory. It has type N connectors, for BNC, SMA, or SMB connectors use the appropriate adaptor, not included. This is a good thing, because the BNC adaptors on these plugins are prone to damage during handling and the N connector is very rugged and adaptors are cheap. Because I had access to the User's and Service Manuals for this unit. I will include electronic copies on a CD in the shipment. Other ... morenotes. I have purchased nonfunctional units from ebay sellers in the past. And I can say that if the unit passes calibration, this is a more rigorous test than just showing a signal on a mainframe or feigning ignorance and saying it can't be tested. This unit does pass calibration, and I am selling it as a calibrated unit from a mainframe that has the latest OS and a full Agilent calibration. It passes all of the service checks that HP/Agilent established, and while I believe it will serve anyone well for decades more to come, I am selling it with a non DOA warranty and starting the bidding low, because I don't need to be in the warranty/service/repair/maintenance business.
