Nice Garage sale find! This reel was attached to a very old Eagle Claw Rod. Due to my economic difficulty I'm forced to sell alot of my vintage collection. Here is another one no saltwater use and corrosion could I find on this reel. It is all perfect and shiny as per my photos. With the exception on the top of the granny alarm switch or retreive clicker. Other than that there might be a tiny bit at the left side of threel that is barley visible and shows in my photos. 3 Vintage Penn Reels Sold As One Lot: Squidder 140. 940, and Peerless 9. The Peerless 9 seems to my inexpert eye to work good. The clicker clicks and the gear lever operates OK. It shows evidence of use with scratches, but no dings or dents or cracks. The Squidder 140 looks good. Without dings or dents, but with lots of scratches and some corrosion. The lever that engages the gears to spin the spool does not work. The clicker works OK when the spool is turned by hand. The 940 is well-used. And really is just a parts reel, since the lever to engage the spool is missing and one screw is gone from the end. The 3 reels will be shipped in a USPS Large Flate Rate Box for $13 to the USA only. I am selling this vintage Penn 940 levelmatic reel that needs some attention. The two issues are as follows: one of the side plate screws is missing[ an easy fix] and the second issue is that the levelwind does not track across the bar.properly. It's an easy fix if you do these things. All of the other functions on the work properly. Some wear but it looks as if there is still plenty of life left.
