The gear ratio is 4.6:1 The handle turns very easy and is very smooth. This has a great multi-disc drag system that works perfect. This reel has a strong bail spring that snaps back quickly. I have two Penn reels 1st is a Penn 550 ss the only thing it needs is a good cleaning and oil. It reels a little hard but other than that it just shows normal wear. 2nd is a Penn 750ss the only thing wrong with this reels is the back spin want lock. If you keep messing with it it will lock it place. Minor work on them and you will have to good reels.

You are bidding on a recently serviced. Nice used dam quick 550 spinning reel. It was disassembled. Cleaned, greased, drags cleaned and greased with cal's, then reassembled. Mechanically it is awesome and very smooth and has a sound all its own due to a very simple but tough anti reverse dog. It is ready to be spooled with line and fished. These are very solidly built reels. Very similar to the original Penn spinfisher family. It is roughly the same size as a Mitchell 302 and Penn 704. It is heavy, a testament to it's rugged construction. See pics for cosmetic condition. There are some paint rubs on the edges(i took pics of the worst of it) And some minor scratches.
