Up for sale is a used Penn chromed metal spool that fits a Penn Master Mariner 349 or 349H fishing reel. The older model 349 has a 2.5 to 1 gear ratio and the 349H has a 3.25 to 1 gear ratio. Note: This spool will not work with the 49 or 149 Mariner reel models! The spool is in good condition and is about half full of 30# dacron line. It was pre tested and spins perfectly in an older Penn 349 reel. The Buy It Now price is $12.00 for the spool. S&H is $10.00 using USPS because of the spool weight.

Vintage Penn 349 Reel and Magnuflex T30 4/0 Rod Deep Sea FIshing Rig
Offered for bid is a vintage& classic Penn 439 reel. Matched with a M agnuflex T30 4/0 fiberglass rod. Both in“like new” condition. The Penn reel has a thin spool. Just less than 2 inches wide, but 3 ½ inches across. There are loops for vest clips, plus the crank can be lengthened or shortened depending on how much torque you want. The drag is very smooth, and the spool turns very free. The chrome is bright and there’s no scratches or dings on the Bakelite sides. This reel looks and works like a big silver and black jewel, fresh out of the box. The secondary thumbscrew clamp is not included, but the holes for that inexpensive item are there. The Magnuflex rod isn’t that well known. But people who know the company have nothing but good things to say about them and their products. Magnuflex is still in business today, making regular ... moreand custom rods. Please do a little research on their rods as I can’t leave you a“link” to direct you. EBAY Rules) This rod has a white oak butt with a slotted metal end. Good for a deep sea trolling or chair cup. The front grip is a one piece of solid cork with about 40 rings on it, 6 inches long. The rod has four guides; the first guide and the tip are rollers. The chrome on the rod is just as good as the reel. From butt to tip the rod is 77 inches long. The rod(past the front grip) is 52 inches long and is VERY STIFF. If you hook a“fighter” with some weight on him. I guarantee you will know it.

These are Penn spools. 3 are for the 349, 1 is for the 49. These are the old style chrome plated bronze spools. They do have some chrome loss, I cleaned off the corrosion. They are still usable and I have switched over to the aluminum spools on my reels.

Vintage Penn 349 Master Mariner Narrow Frame Big Game Saltwater Fishing Reel
Here is a Penn No. 349 Master Mariner fishing reel. I would classify this as a big game reel. This is a pretty narrow reel compared to most reels of this size. Has been a little neglected as you can see. Needs some cleaning up and lubricating but everything functions. The levers for the free spool and anti reverse are a little stiff but they work. Bait click is very loud. I really like the look of these old Penns. They are so much more"nautical" looking than the new stuff. And it was MADE IN THE USA. Sold as is as pictured
